With all these changes going on and us probably having gentle as coach i wonder if they is any truth to the rumour that i heard a few months back that gareth ellis was on the way back to the uk and joining us!! makes it slightly more beleiveable now!! still not convinced there is any truth in it.

Ellis must have had a big change of heart from the day he signed a contract extention.

Considering the rumours, by the looks of it, supposedly came about before Pearson took over, it wuld have been an "old board" recruitment, ie:load of garbage.

I really don't understand why people just make stuff up, there are enough "established" rumours around like Lynch/Chase withuot people just plucking stuff out of the air.

no, not in my experience, I usually hear the same rumour from a number of different people (and they aren't people who all hear the same rumour from the same original source as often happens on here)

FWIW I can't see Ellis coming back over here till at least the end of his current contract, and agree with you that the majority of these 'rumours' are baloney.

1) why wasn;t it posted then
2) Pearson wasn't here, so it would have been a Kath signing

I heard a few days ago, Andy lynch told a team mate who told a former team mate who told his brother who told my mate who then told me.So I knew it was true.

I too heard the Gareth Ellis rumour and, in fact, duly posted it on here.

A month later, however, we signed Jamie Ellis and I assumed my saucy sauce had the wrong end of the stick.

Was a 'valid' rumour, though, as clearly several people had heard the same thing.

What marks a rumour as "valid", does it have to be heard at least 3rd hand?

If it's heard in the queue at the chippy, it's valid.
