Supprised nobody has posted this yet but who ever was running the game at Widness today didn't have a clue. Around 200 seats in the end of the Hull stand were cordened off today as apparently their were 1750 seats available without them and Hull had around 1600 fans. The stewards wouldn't open the other area up and expected the 30 Hull fans who came in just before kick off to go and find all the odd seats in a pretty packed stand. When the Hull fans said they couldn't do this the ground staff sat all these fans infront of the stand, within 3 feet of the dead ball line! Infront of 200 empty seats. The only reason they offered was that their were enough seats.

Talk about stupidity, that is exactly how trouble starts!

Really hope that a picture makes it into the papers!!

Yeah the sat on the floor, they were about three feet from the dead ball line, infront of 200 seats!!!!!!!

The whole stewarding operation was completely OTT. Every time FC scored they surged towards our stand. Not really sure what they were expecting. And at the end, could they not have let us out the front? The Widnes stand had emptied at that point. H&S gone mad.

For some reason the stewards at Halton Stadium seem to think that we'll nick the seats. Whenever I've attended they have always been heavy-handed in policing that end

absolutely disgusting the "head steward" was winding people up from the start of the game, I've made a formal complaint to the club and also to Cheshire Police, I will not visot Widnes again, if they are better for SL than Halifax or Leigh then I'm a rovers fan.

There's nothing near the ground, the parking is shocking, the concourse areas are poor.

What was all that about with "response stewards" RUNNING AT FULL SPEED INTO THE STAND LIKE IT WAS A TERRORISM ATTACK ??????????? even the fat chap who was entrance steward told one of em to grow up and calm down...

Ropati is class on that display and so was jimmys lad, both have decent future. .............. did you see rule and Kath jumping up and down clapping near the end , and some say they dont care

having to walk through a council estate to get to the gate from that so called car park is a farce too

What a joke that was, the stewards at the full end of the stand told us to go to the other end as it was empty and they would open it. Off we went only to be told to they wasnt going to open the end up with 200 empty seats.

can I just add, the idiotic Hull Fan trying to start on a copper was a joke, same guy causing trouble at every away game, an embarassment to the club.

The stewards were a joke, why just not open that end with all the empty seats? When we asked the head steward (the bald guy) he didnt have an answer, just passed it onto his mate, and why was all the stewards running towards the Hull end just before KO?? thought they was ariot that id misses?
On the plus side we got parked near the ground next to the field, great spot, no charge!

When the Crusaders travelled to widnes for a pre-season friendly, widnes couldn't be bothered to open a stand for us so we were put in the north stand. As we got their early and the seating was unreserved we bagged the best seats.

What would be the point of opening a whole stand for a handfull of fans when there would be plenty of room in the North & South stands which were open?

For the record, the stewards are organised by the council - not the club.

FFS, unbelievable, I've heard it all now, a snob from Hull - next time we'll organise a fleet of sedans to carry you with the curtains drawn so that you don't have to look at council house people
