It would make the KC unsustainable I would have thought. Even if we went in with you RL plays far too few games to make it worthwhile.
Its a threat from the Allams to say if you dont sell us the KC we'll shut the stadium down.

| The allams will buy the KC now and we'll be in a poor position IMO. If it does happen then part of the deal should be a new, purpose built 20k stadium for us with the proceeds

| The article says both Hull and KR will be offered the chance to go there.
Can't see this happening, can you imagine the people of Melton wanting this? The hassle of getting there? He speaks about opening an old railway halt (sounds familiar), but that won't happen. The only benefit I could see is that it MAY be marginally easier for away fans?

| Firstly he's never going to do it, he's been snapped with a piece of paper out the back of his offices in Melton and the HDM and RH have given him some press time because they have nothing better to discuss!
He will get his way in the end and buy the KC, you lot will be safe from being given the boot but you'll have to be on your best behaviour or he will have no hesitation to give you the boot (unless of course you have a written agreement...etc which I am sure you will given Plumber isn't there anymore!).
If Hull were to be relocated with the funds raised from the sale of the KC then an equal amount would have to be given to HKR. The money in the first place was meant for the whole city and the stadium does provide that however the council got away with offering us a place there in the first place but as any new stadium would be for FC alone then we'd be well within our rights to ask for a cut of the dollar.
Nothing is going to change other than ownership though so wont be any need for anyone to get their nickers in a twist!

| Somebody needs to get their calculators out here.
KC built 10 years ago at a cost of £46 millions. Allam now reckons he can buy the land and build a "Sporting Village" including a greater capacity stadium for £14 millions more? Get real!
Where would the Allams raise the money? How many people would be willing to invest in a 40,000 capacity stadium for a team that has spent all of two seasons in the Premier League, operating from a cost-base considerably less than the one proposed by the Allams? Let alone attempting to get a mortgage to fund the deal.
Is the site the old Capper Pass works? If so, has it been declared free of contaminants yet?

Hang on, you refused to use the stadium, you're now getting money from the council to improve your own - but you'd want a cut? kcuf ffo.

| Don't think it would bother us if he did buy the stadium, we have an agreement.
Also, some of the Allams family are FC pass holders, so I doubt he would "damage" the club. Maybe he'll take us on aswell!

| Was always a possibility, neither club owns the stadium so the clubs owners can take the club anywhere. Could the council be left with a stadium and nobody to use it?

I think that's a pretty niave view. We pay around £1/2m a year to play at the KC which is chicken feed to the Allam's. Do you really think that we have the financial clout to take them on should they want to get us out of the stadium, or would we be in a strong bargaining position on things like rent increases, use of facilities, shop rent etc etc? We already have their players publicly saying they're making mistakes because of problems we cause with the pitch (rightly or rorngly it doesn't really matter if it is the perception).
Whilst the council own the stadium I feel we're pretty safe. If it's sold, then it's a whole different ballgame. What if a new owner comes along? What if developers get involved? There are a large number of scenarios which could put our use of the stadium at risk.
And you don't amass a £100m+ fortune without being prepared to make unpopular decisions or step on a few toes

The Allams won't get permission to build their new stadium, if our council stays strong there'll be no need to worry. Its scare tactics, nothing more. As Coddy said, a 40000 capacity stadium for a team that barely fully sold out the KC in 2 years of premier league puffball? And taking it away from a city centre location? The guys a fool if he thinks that's a good idea.

| I wouldn't worry about this posturing by the Allams. A new stadium at Melton will never happen. They couldn't afford to build it without the supporting infrastructure - shops, pubs, restaurants. There would also be tremendous opposition from local residents to any planning application nor would the City fans want to trek out there.
If the Allams were to buy the KC they wouldn't write KUHCC a cheque for £40m; they would pay for it by borrowing money secured against the stadium and the debt would be Hull City's not theirs. That should worry the City fans.

If i was a City fan i'd be more worried about May, Jimmy will be back to take another £4.68million from the club

| Coming from Sheffield a stadium at Melton would be ideal!
However, as others have said, it won't happen. Too many variables to overcome and the mention of mortgage arrangements in the HDM article should have everyone freaking out. No doubt Peter Ridsdale will be brought in to oversee it

This was talked of for the KC and the estimated cost was around £4m, this being back in 2001.
The Allams have a few quid, but £60m would put a major dent into their wealth. Where do they think these extra City fans are going to come from? In their last season in the premier league they were not selling out a fair few matches in a ground which had only around 25000 seats available.
Hot air, nothing else!

| Whatever happens, looks a distinct possibility that your boys will be playing in a 40,000 stadium, whether it being the KC or at Melton.
Your matches will have about as much atmosphere as Hunslet when they were at Elland Road.
