No mention of Rovers just that contract for match day live with Hull FC has come to an end.

Didn't realise it was a Hull FC statement, I have since read that.

Think its all to do with KCFM being taken over by Lincs FM, new owners seem to be wanting to take the radio station in a different direction.

Tonights forum?

Talk about pulling the plug quickly, you'd have thought they would have still have broadcast tonights fans forum as a last hurrah. Very disappointed by this news, mind you since Lincs FM came in they have been slowly knocking off the sport.

Never really listened to KCFM so not a dissapointment for me. It put me off when Hull & Rovers were playing at the same time one week (no it wasn't a derby) and they kept splitting the coverage (like Humberside used to in the days when they only had MW). Also the online player was patchy at times.
Ever since then I have listened to them on Humberside (all of 2 times last season) when not able to get to a game.

I remember him, he had a No. 1 hit in the tractor charts with "Let's f*** while bacon fries"

threw a mean barn dance too, if the rumours are to be believed.

the positive is that we don,t have to put up with rob(the mighty robins)chavwick and his biased drivel he commentates we don,t have to listen to what he finks or his foughts after a game and how he his bessy mates with justin morgan

We never did have to put up with him. There's an Off button or the Mute button, both work equally well.

KCFM have been desperate to get out of this because they want all sindicated programmes and no sport and little news! Hull FC have spent thousands underpinning the cost of Airlie night, forum broadcasts etc and FC Voices even paid for the ISDN line to be refurbished and reconnected so that the last event could be broadcast. Since Lincs FM took over Clarkey has done lots of the media stuff, game commentaries etc for free. Its a shame but its Lincs FM that have pulled the plug and at 24 hours notice. FC Voices got assurances from the radio station back in the closed season that they would run this forum but since then they have not even had the decency to answer our correspondence. THe lack of the forum being broadcast is a real let down for out of town fans and those who have not got a ticket and its also the end of a ground breaking relationship between the club and the radio station. They are I believe looking to drop all sports coverage.

Thankfully the club are still looking at other ways of expanding their media coverage as the Club site indicates!

Be interested to know under what conditions the frequency was awarded to KCFM, any ideas where we can find out?

Well the idea of evening sports programmes and live coverage of games was an eccential part of the submission for a license in the first place it was in their public submission document which i remember reading at the time in fact many more cynical than I might say that was where Humberside got the idea for sportstalk from. But it might just have been a coincidence

Funny how we get this news and suddenly sports talk is cut down by half an hour!

applicant’s overall programming philosophy and vision for the radio service.
• KCFM 99.9 will be a truly local, full service radio station for Hull and the surrounding area. We will

service together with a wide variety of music.
• KCFM 99.9 will provide a significant commitment to news and full service information to satisfy a
demand for more localness from listeners to existing stations
• KCFM 99.9 will offer Hull and the surrounding area its first 24-hour-a-day news service
• KCFM 99.9 will provide comprehensive sports coverage including exclusive football commentary
not heard on any existing commercial radio station
• KCFM 99.9 will include relevant and meaningful speech features and interviews catering for the
interests of people in Hull and the surrounding area
• KCFM 99.9 will play a wide variety of familiar and popular music from across the decades from the
60s to today catering for the tastes of people in Hull and the surrounding area
• KCFM 99.9 will provide a localised “one stop shop” for listeners in Hull and the surrounding area
who currently switch between existing stations to satisfy their music, sport and information needs.
• KCFM 99.9 will be of broad appeal and cater for a wide age range of mature listeners aged 30 and
over to satisfy a demand from advertisers, make the station financially viable and attract
audiences away from BBC services including the popular BBC Radio Humberside.
• KCFM 99.9 will have quality presenters who will appear mature and who are able to make the
station sound uncluttered.
• KCFM 99.9 will always put Hull first ahead of existing stations which have a regional focus.

OFCOM ruled on a change of control in June last year, no problems, I've contacted them to see if they have any recourse to look again as the fundamental nature of the output is changing.

Hmmm interesting as they dont seem to be meeting a few points at present.
