Selling the stadium, don't know about this. I would have to know more details and what it would mean for Hull, both as a club and as a city. Can't see the point in selling the one thing we own as a city that is a benefit to the community. Should we be selling East Park etc.?

I would imagine some very robust covenants are attached to the KC, to prevent a sale to a private concern. The money from Kingston Communications was only released for capital projects so I doubt the legality of now taking a profit and applying that to cover any shortfall in the revenue account.

Mind you, given the previous of the incumbent government & Cllr Minge, they'd flog anything, that stood still long enough, to anyone with a promise of dosh.

The legalities of selling an asset built for community benefit would no doubt result in endless court battles and possibly judicial review.

Furthermore, if this did go ahead I am not sure where we would play. Wouldn't want to stay at the KC, even if they allowed us to, and there is no obvious site or investor to pay for a new stadium.

Ive heard your looking at record crowd numbers for the forthcoming season. Hudgell says the 600 Willie Mason cut-outs should fill up that mobile stand nicely.

I doubt very much that the Stadium could be sold, funding was secured from other sources (including Sport England) on the premise that it was a community facility. It makes no sense for the Council to sell it's only asset, and if it is, genuinely, "costing them money" it's their incompetence and nobody else's.

FWIW I do not want to see it sold, in fact I'd like to see the rules about the SMC tightened up so that it is not part and parcel of any one club, that way not only is justice being done (as I believe it already is) but importantly, it is SEEN to be being done.

We have no need to worry about any proposed sale, I am very certain that when it was all set up there where lots of covenants put in place. As a major leaseholder of the KC our rights as tenants are guaranteed and NO ONE CAN KICK US OUT.

This won't happen, but...

Imagine the Allam's intent was to kick you out (you can rest easy, as I'm sure it isn't). You have a watertight tenancy agreement - but if it was mutually agreeable to the SMC and Hull FC board I'm sure it could be dissolved. Of course the Hull FC board would be mad to do that - unless it was made up of people whose intent was to see Hull FC leave the KC. How much would it cost to buy Hull FC? £2m? 3?

The current valuation of Hull FC (in the eyes of the sharedholders) appears to be nearer the £5m mark, I know bids of £3.5m have been turned away in recent times.

I agree there's no way that Hull FC can be kicked out of the KC. However I think some people are being a bit naïve that the stadium won’t be sold. From what I hear, on extremely good authority, is that one of the major reasons the Allams bought out Hull City was on the premise that they would be able to buy the stadium.

I don’t think they would have committed all the money they already have without thoroughly investigating the chances of this happening with the council and powers that be etc.

They will buy the stadium and then look at expanding as soon as possible. Hull FC will still have a home, but it will look sp when just over a quarter filled on most weekends.

People with money do that sort of thing all the time. Plus they may not have been told the truth - either deliberately or through ignorance.

Maybe you're right, maybe you're wrong? Either way I think it's very naive for somebody to say outright "there's no way the stadium will be sold".
