Yup Shopacheck shirts were from 89-91 in fact the first shirts with sponsors were in 1984 but that was ABI caravans if memory serves me right.

Hopefully it is a genuine error with the picture and not someone trying to pull the wool over peoples eyes. Many people who have not been following us as long will see something like that and think it is a bargain for a piece of HFC history and then when they find out they will be extremely disappointed.

The 91 away shirt had the irregular v and was made by matchwinner. this was from a year or so before (we wore this umbro black with white for the 0-0 draw with fax in the cup semi final at headingley), but I cannot recall the year. At that stage, Scott Gale was playing half back for us and this most certainly wasn't a sterling shirt as he wasn't around much after 85!

Our away kit at that time was one of white with Black irregular "v" or a white shirt with single black irregular hoop. The black away kit only came back around 88-89 in Umbro version.

This shirt is a nice shirt, but it certainly isn't match worn by Sterlo.

That is right although there is a fairly good chance it belonged to Phil Windley....

I think the shirt is is earlier than 91, I have the 91 Greg Mackey Away Shirt from the 91 season sure it is matchwinner not umbro??

I also have Paul Prendivilles 1982 Wembley final shirt and this was made by Umbro but I was only 7 and can't remember the away shirt.

No we wore the irregular black and white hoops in the 1989 premiership defeat.

you know, i don't really remember us having an away kit as such in those days, we used to play a lot of our away games in irregular hoops, maybe each side had such different kits there was no need

I remember Peter Sterling wearing an away kit which was predominently a white shirt with just the one black irregular hoop around the middle but as you say clubs only wore their away shirt if absolutely necessary back in those days which was few are far between!

That was the 85 away kit,I went to Wembley in mine .

got same shirt no7 ,i won it in a raffle a long time ago, it was greg mackeys shirt they told me at the time of winning it

i am pretty sure it was kevin dick at 7 in the drawn challenge cup semi v halifax at headingley we got beat in the replay at elland road scott gale was at 6

gale got injured in 1st drawn semi 1988 (the same year as that shirt) and gary pearce played at 6 in the replay and kevin dick played 7 in both so its his shirt

It was Hull's away shirt from the 1987/88 season through to 1989/90 season so it could be one of a few players shirt but Kevin Dick did wear it in 1988 for sure.

Yup, given the comments above it really does seem a credible alternative to eBay.

You really should check the provenance of items before making wild and unsubstantiated claims

I just found this picture of Sterlo in a home Shopacheck sponsored Umbro kit but can't find one in an away kit.
