I'm already feeling the void now rugby has left us for the forseeable and was wondering if any one has any box-set recommendations for me to try? I particularly enjoyed; 24, Prison Break, Lie to me, and the Shield. A few have recommended Heroes and Fringe to me. Any suggestions....

Just picked up Life on Mars series 1 & 2 in Asda today

Enjoyed both series. Wasn't so keen on Ashes to Ashes, though.

Just googled that. It got over 30 prestigous awards. Will definately bang it on the LoveFilm list.

Be careful with the Fools and Horses set - some of the episodes are hacked to bits!

Band of Brothers has been reccomended to me by quite a few people too

Fringe - Definately (First episode is a tad slow but gets going quickly after that)
White Collar - Funny but also good Storyline
Warehouse 13 - Loved this one
Supernatural - first 3 seasons good but has started to lose it a bit now

I would recommend:

Fringe (as hullbg said it is slow to start and you think its just another x-files but stick with it and you will soon realise why its one of the most talked about show in the states, season 3 has took the show to a whole new level)
If your going to watch Heroes, just watch season 1, the rest are a big let down.

I'm also a massive fan of 24. The final season is out on DVD in a couple of weeks so I'll be getting that to finish my collection.

I bought the complete box set of The West Wing a while back although I've never actually watched it, so I need to get into that soon.

Another highly recommended boxset is The Wire, which is just fantastic TV. I'm currently on season 3 of the 5, every episode I've seen so far has been brilliant.

The last season of 24 was IMO the best - enjoy.

The wire is superb (but I needed subtitles because of some of the slang/accents).

Comedy wise go for Still Game - absolutely brilliant!

Oh I've already seen it on Sky mate. I agree it was a fine season and back to form after a couple of shaky ones.
