OK wolfs, you got me. Your mate got us in the top 6 so fair play to him. Disappointing we didn´t hold on to 4th, but if we´re honest, most of us would have taken 6th pre season.

I still don´t think he´s the man to take us to trophies but nice to see some passion from him today and his half time team talk looked good.

I couldn´t be there today but managed to watch the game with some whinos in a bar on the costa del sun. Thought we were unlucky and radford should get a commendation for smacking bailey

Let´s hope we do the red n shiites next saturday though

What is it about Agar, that makes you want him to stay?

I would ask the 'Agar in' crowed;
If Agar left us at the end of this season, would you be gutted to see him go??

We have better players on the field and a better culture at the club, that has taken us forward this season.

Plenty of good individual performances, but as far as 'team' performances go, we are still very poor.

I remain unconvinced that ultimately he's the right man for the job in the long term.

BUT

Credit where credit's due. We've done marginally better than I thought we would at the start of the season (I had us finishing in 7th, which officially we still could). I think he's coped with player absence through injury better than he did in the last two years and the victories over Saints & rovers were pleasing and he must share some of the credit for those wins. Overall, given the circumstances throughout the season, he's done as well as could be expected. Taking into account the strengths & weaknesses of the current squad he's acquited himself well. Finishing 6th on the regular standings is a fair reflection of our current standing within SL, but as I have said before I still have major doubts that we will be watching any laps of honour around Wembley or Old Trafford while he remains our head coach.

If I was to issue a school report for young Master Agar, it would probably read A for effort, B for achievement at the moment. Of course this could all change at the weekend. Defeat on Saturday would drop his grade to a C, whereas victory in the next two weeks would push him up to a B+.

Either way, whatever any of us may think about his suitability for the post, he is our head coach and will remain so for another 12 months at the very least. As such, whatever my own personal reservations about his ability to take us to the summit of the game, I will continue to support my club, come what may, as I have done for 40 years. Remember once a Black & White, always a Black & White. Come hell or high water.

I too remain unconvinced that Agar will take us to where I want us to be (that is competing for and winning silverware). This season has seen an improvement in results but the quality of rugby we have played as left me somewhat under whelmed. Our league placing of sixth is about what I expected for the squad we have assembled, but it needs some quality additions to be seriously thought of as genuine contenders. I have no particular beef with Agar, he's a decent coach and a decent bloke I just don't believe he's capable of delivering a title winning team.

Pretty much my thoughts, although I do think that we'd have done better if Long had played more.

I don't believe our present team is capable of winning silverware whoever coaches it. Our squad is much weaker than Wigan, Wire, Saints and Leeds.

On a positive note we came within minutes of finishing 4th, which would have been a remarkable achievement for a team with our injuries and which was only able to field its first choice half back pairing 5 or 6 times.

We've beaten Rovers 3 times.

We also did the double over Saints for the first time in Donkeys years.

On the downside we lost to Crusaders, Salford, Quins and Wakey.

Also our points difference and points scored was abysmal and the rugby was often far from entertaining, although the injuries will have contributed to this.

It all boils down to next Saturday. If we win most supporters will be happy because we will have finished above Rovers in the regular season, beaten them 4 times and put them out of the play-offs. If we lose there will be a lot of people on here once more calling for Agar's head.

It's harsh judging the quality of our play when we've been missing Horne and Long so much, we know that Horne wasn't going to move us around the field but we all hoped he'd get his attacking flair bak once Long took the responsibility for that part of our game.

I don't think much credit really needs attributing to Agar for finishing 6th, when you look at our squad as a whole you would put us in the top 6 teams or I would at least. Yes we have had injuries but so have plenty of other teams. So on a whole I think we have finished roughly were the majority of us expected to, there have been a couple of high points this season (mainly the 2 Saints games) but there have been more low points.

Yes its a top 6 squad but not a top 4 squad.

Which other teams were without their first choice half backs for as long as we were?

None,so that makes it even better that we finished 6th,also how many games has omeley and fitz missed,with these players in the team on a more regular basis we would of finished even higher,spoke to omeley the other week and he even said how well we had done without horne and long in the team,so to me credit must go to agar and the rest of the coaching staff, also believe agar has found the perfect assistant he seems to of made a massive difference to the set up and the players seem to get on with him.

Lets face it, in 95% of fans eyes it will be whether he gets it right Saturday or not
