anyone got any good tips on where to find a smashing curry??
the usual ones in west hull ie tandoor mahal are ok but was just wondering if there is any hidden gems out there?

Your location and what are you after mate? eat in or takeaway and just Indian or others?

Voujon on Anlaby Common worth a try for a sit down.

Not the cheapest but not had a bad one yet.

Went to Bengal Pride down Chants last night and that was delish. Had a chefs special chicken tikka. Twas a madras hot chicken tikka and it was v v hot

Raj Pavillion - Recommended.

Used to use Asian Kitchen a lot on Prinny Ave. Not a fan now it's been done out to look a bit posher. Food isnt as good now either.

Think there are loads of average curry houses in Hull, no fantastic ones that im aware of though.

I can well believe that you have tried them all as well.

Got to be Raj Pavilion, best in Hull by a country mile.

Little further a field but do try Zolshas in Howden (used to be station pub). Fantastic grub and they do a thursday special and all you can eat sunday for about £8.

been to pretty much every curry house in our lovely city and IMO bengal pride is the best, had a clear out too and it looks rather posh inside too...Chicken vinderloo every time

Just don't go to Curry on Holderness Road

Raj Pavillion I recommend for a sit in place.

Asia Kitchen on Princes Ave for a takeaway is generally decent but sometimes hit and miss.

Hasn't Bengal Pride been voted the best Indian in Hull the last couple of years running?

I can't say i,ve tried that many different takeaways but i get jolsha a lot and is always very good.
only problem i have is with the twin brothers who work/own? it, i've had a conversation with one of em then he's gone in the kitchen and when he came back out i tried to carry on the same conversation only to bet met by a strange look! didn't realise it was the other brother



the indian hawke, also Hessle. ( formerly the admiral pub) is a decent restaurant value and taste wise but service is very hit and miss.

Know what you mean mate, its the same when they deliver, one will turn up you'll have a chat with hiw, see him the next time and he looks at you as if your p****d

If you're ever in East Yorkshire, there's a quality one in Howden called 'Zolsha'. Been quite a few times, always had a great meal.

Barinda - Boothferry road next to what was Boothferry park. New place opened by Jolsha owners....
