Now, given our contigent of Tongan's I thought i would be a great idea to get a tongan flag....I've always had a soft spot for Tonga since the days of Tevita and Maea David.

Anybody got an idea where you would get one??!

The only negative is the colour of the flag (red and white!).

I remember the fans forum a couple of years ago when someone talked to willie manu in tongan (apparently tongan)

Manu just looked at him like he had 3 heads. Maybe we should just welcome these guys in English and introduce them to old faithful and the hull fc badge rather than risking offending them?

I'm guessing his Tongan language wasn't the best then and probally insulted him!

There's no chance I'm waving a red and white flag

Maea David has played rep games for Samoa. So I don`t think he is Tongan.

At the forum I said "Mate Ma'a Tonga and FC" - which translates to 'Die for Tonga & Hull'

I met Willie and the rest of Tonga team during a lunch break whilst they were over here in the UK - most of the team had Mate Ma'a tatooed on their calf muscles. Willie had just left Cas and whilst he had signed for FC hadn't yet put on the B&W shirt. He was pleased to be signing for a club which would allow him to play his style of rugby... and make an impact. Not sure that we have been let down



For the record I also asked Sharpie if he was concerned about the overall intensity of the game, lack of off season time to allow the bodies to rest and the injuries that we may have - he said he was confident that FC had depth in the squad... and that it was stronger than most in SL.

If the "hoops" were how they should be and not three different sizes, and the correct way round then yes.

Last season it was usually just a white flag
