| A man that clearly has the club at heart . A supporter for many years and talks a lot of sense in regards of how the club should be run . Move aside Hetherington and give this man the job.

Saw Pete this morning he was off to watch his team Brid Town play a pre season friendly. Follows Hull home and away and has done for years. Not sure he wants to run Hull Fc though!!!

| He way well be a big fan, but with all due respect, the jump from Bridlington Town to what is, to all intents and purposes, a Grade A Super League franchise, is a fairly substantial.

I don't know. A prospective new owner may need to buy out other directors too.
It's all very well wanting to change the board and I'm all for a fan owning the club like at Wigan and Warrington but they must be first and foremost an astute businessman and have an acute understanding of the game. For all our board's faults, they have turned the club around financially.
Anyway all it would take is a poor season and any new owner would face a backlash anyway.

He's hairman of Brid town i think so he should know what he's doing in that respect. You can't fault the club for our off field marketing but it's the football operations side were we are failing.

TBF I dont suppose for one minute Pete has any intention of taking over Hull FC dont forget he has been a fan of the club for so long he knows exactly what kind of stick he would get if everything wasnt rosy in the KC garden!

When i heard him speaking on the radio a while back . I got the impression he'd do things a lot differently to whats been the norm for years. I was quite impressed with what he had to say about player's contracts and the retention of players also. I hope he's on Humberside again so we could at least ask the question.

| only a fan would ever buy the club outright, we all know theres no real money in running a rugby league side. That said im a big fan but if i was loaded dont think id put my money in, no chance of a massive payback and board level money makes no dif to us anyway. Wer spending cap, same as wigan and wire its just we dont do it as well. No 1 makes money in sport nowadays, its a passion not an investment

I know people knock the dark lady of hull fc but she sure seems to have the right business contacts and attributes. If someone like pete came into hull and things slumped for a few games people would slate him just as they do the current board. Theres a fine line between being a fan, wanting the best for the club and actually achieving it

It's done Wigan & Wire and even Hudds to an extent no harm though. I think "most" fans would understand that change within the club systematically and culturally would take some time .

Surely the salary cap should stop bank rolling? (it appears clubs have found ways around it)

Salary cap is one aspect and all are on a level playing field in that respect, although there are always rumours of credit card allowances at some clubs. Thing is that if we want training facilities, investment in youth development and community programmes etc we rely on funds generated by the club, ie ticket income, sponsorship and Sky money, whereas others can just get their chairman to put their hand in their pocket. Our model protects us from reliance on a benefactor, but obviously when their benefactors have serious wealth we're at a disadvantage.

I know the club have made reasonable profits for the last 5 years, but in the same period haven't we repaid something like £3m of debt back. I'm guessing that trading profits have probably been kept as low as possible to minimise corporation tax or do we still have losses to write off against?

No. We've made best part of £1m over the last 5 years, but the creditors number was "only" ever £2.4m and is still £1.7m, problem is you can't see how this is made up, some will be deferred income, accruals, trade creditors etc. We do also have £400k cash at bank though. £3m of debt - I think you're maybe confusing us with Rovers whose total creditors per the 2008 accounts were £3.2m, that's before their 2009 accounts are filed in August, with Hudgell on record that Rovers lost a further £450,000 in that financial year.
In terms of the corporation tax, we still have accumulated losses so no danger of corporation tax avoidance I wouldn't think.

my only issue with the board is the appointment/renewal of Agar.
everything else seems to be run in a very organized manner.
and they have tried to get us a training ground...but have been dragged into the world of public-private partnerships, with the many hurdles that entails. They seem to be back to 'square one' so we'll have to see what new plans they come up with.
