Why on earth were some idiots in the South Stand booing him



These nuggets need a lesson in why he's at Wakey.

I really feel for Paul, yeah he could be his own worst enemy at times and not do the right thing off the pitch to help his own corner but he didn't deserve that last night.

Don't forget he played for nothing when we were at our lowest and you tell me anyone that would do that in any job. He loves his boyhood club and his boyhood club turned their backs on him, not the other way round.

Great post. Thought he played well last night and ran with the same commitment he always had.

Same thing was said on another thread about the kind of ovation he would get. For me he gave years of service to this club and was his own worst enemy most of the time. He played great at the start of his career and then injuries started taking their toll. No one can knock the effort he gave though every time he pulled on a black and white shirt.

Let's get it right if king stayed out the boozer and trained hard he'd still be at hull, own worst enemy I'm affraid.

Everyone makes bad mistakes at some time, alas Paul King has made his fair share. But he seems to be more than doing his bit on the field for Wakefield and thats really all you can ask a player to do.

A shame in many ways to see Kingy in a Wakefield shirt. He threw it all away.

I wouldn't boo him, but then I've no interest in booing any ex-players, I'd rather get behind my team.

If he had black and white blood, he'd have put the club in front of his many drinking binges, one mistake is forgivable, 2,3, or 4 chances is just plain stupid. Always put the drink in front of the club, put him in the same folder as Bob Roberts, Michael Smith etc a gifted player who pi$$ed his career away.

Totally agree. Whos bothered if other clubs are watching us, all I'm bothered about is what MY club are doing on the pitch and not worried in the slightest about other teams.

It didnt used to happen, must be a newbie thing, its embaressing it happens with any ex players now, Chester got the boos and he was a good player for the club.

It's always gone on at all clubs , I remember Sully getting abuse from the Threepenny Stand in the 70's.

Always been a big Kingy fan, sad to see him playing against us last night but he only has himself to blame.

My point being that even the legend that was Sully was given abuse by some.

A player that had a great chance to be a fully fledged international ,gave his all for hull but pi$$ed it up a wall,such a shame but does not deserve booing and is certainly not reject material,hope he does well at wakey

I clapped when the announcer read out Kingys name last night, he was master of his own downfall and I bet he was feeling emotional returning to the KC in a wakey shirt
