Gutted for Ligi and the club, thought as soon as he went down it was likely a season ended but had hoped it was one that looked worse than it was.
We need reinforcements asap and not just any but some decent quality. Unfortunately due to the lack of available quality in the non quota category I think the club would be better off paying Ligi off but still looking after him in his recovery to free up a quota spot with a view to signing him to a new deal next year once he’s non quota. Then see what’s/who’s available in the overseas market.
Wish him all the best for a full and speedy recovery, he puts his body on the line every week for our club. Think under JC he’d have had a good year too, gutted for him
It looks like he was in and around the Manly first grade setup as a youngster when Carty was there as he made a first grade appearance in 2016. Every overseas player we’ve signed has followed that pattern so could be something in it.
[quote="Windy winger":17t8yptr]With rumours before of Ligi wanting to join fire service , maybe he’ll retire now , does that help us in any way regards the salary cap etc[/quote:17t8yptr]
He may accept a couple of months less money just to get going but as he's played a game and a minute he still counts on the cap. But his departure would free up a quota place and we had spare cap anyway.
