If Sao isn't retained I think we need two established props to rotate with Ese Ese, Aydin and Ashworth (plus Fash & the kids), two second row to complement Cartwright, Lane and Holmes not up to it IMO and at least one centre to partner Hardaker. Don't think anyone believes Chamberlain is anything but a squad player. That's minimum additions if we're going to continue to improve.
Gutted for Ligi and the club, thought as soon as he went down it was likely a season ended but had hoped it was one that looked worse than it was.
We need reinforcements asap and not just any but some decent quality. Unfortunately due to the lack of available quality in the non quota category I think the club would be better off paying Ligi off but still looking after him in his recovery to free up a quota spot with a view to signing him to a new deal next year once he’s non quota. Then see what’s/who’s available in the overseas market.
Wish him all the best for a full and speedy recovery, he puts his body on the line every week for our club. Think under JC he’d have had a good year too, gutted for him
People of twitter seem to think Tom Amone may be available as he's been pushed down to the NSW cup, but seemingly for fitness reasons. Was great for Leigh but if it's fitness related then maybe not somebody Carty would want.[/quote:qin9wxm2]
Looked fit enough for Leigh and would be a big upgrade on Sao. Knows a few of the ex Leigh contingent too.
Got the Knight deal done quick considering we didn’t have a quota spot coming available 2 days ago. He’s a genuine prop but a bab injury record.[/quote:wcjdxv3d]
83 games in 9 seasons
Agree with this, we have been our own worst enemy at times but we can’t catch a break with the injuries.[/quote:1haa7jl8]
I’m worried about the club ‘hoping’ that Asiata just has a sore bicep or whatever it is, it’s never usually the case for us.
