It did for their homecoming

Remember on return as the coach was just outside Hull I saw a banner overhanging a bridge which had "old faithful you'll never win at Wembley" on it.

Despite a shocker of a day I thought that was quite amusing that they'd gone to the trouble to do that.

Surprised they never hired a plane

It’s a shame they’ll never be able to use it again. I hope they didn’t pay too much for it?!!

An absolute awful final. Wigan were poor and we were worse.

It was my Dad’s last ever game, he died the following year. He’d supported Hull since 1946, saw all of our less successful Wembley finals from 1959-2013. I asked he him at half time what he thought of the game. He said it was ‘crap’. He was a great judge of the game my Dad!

Should have been a classic with those squads but both sides played rubbish. Awful day out, loads of people smoking under the Wembley balcony, it stunk. Two rovers fans in front of me on the coach down hadn’t showered in weeks judging by the smell.
