Quote ="Dave K."You have had in for Griffin from the start, a bit like Yeaman you won't change your mind no matter how well he plays, he certainly isn't a poor signing, I think he is a good squad player, personally I would have him in the strongest 17, but very good player to fill in. You need to watch the try's again, he run a great line for his second try.
Last night he had a funny game, scored two try's, made a number of breaks, but bombed 2/3 try's, a real rocks and diamonds performance'"
are you saying you would have him in your strongest 17?
I think you meant to say he is a good squad player but i wouldnt have him in the strongest 17 but a very good player to fill in.
Thats why he has been a poor signing. He was signed on a 3 year deal as a starting centre and not a fill in and has had enough time to settle into the club yet even you who says he is not a poor signing would not have him in our best starting 17.
I agree it didnt take me long to form a negative opinion of Griffin and he didnt help himself with some lazy displays coupled with poor defence and ball handling but as i have said i can still see a place on the bench for Griffin using his size coming on as an impact second row.
Losing Watts has left a massive hole to fill and we currently have no impact from the bench and this is where i see Griffin making a difference.
