Quote ="Staffs FC"It's early days yet obviously so no wild claims. However I've consistently put my view on here that a good pair of halves who know the game would improve Hull FC enormously. =#0000FFSome have argued against me saying that too much importance is put on the ability of these players. It's not the be all and end all but at the end of the day =#0000FFhaving better talented players in the key positions is bound to improve things regardless of who is coach.'"
Those 2 statements are not mutually exclusive. I don't think anyone argued against the idea that better players will improve things. It would be pretty daft to, as it's perfectly obvious. What some (including myself) put forward is that we had/have several fundamental issues that will/would not be fixed by recruitment alone, and that the problems in the halves should not have meant the size of the gulf in performances we've seen, we should have been better in some aspects of play regardless of personnel.
