Last word or not, the £1.25million was a figure offered by the RFL & SL to any 2 clubs agreeing to merge, Huddersfield received exactly the same amount when absorbing Sheffield.
If it then went to pay creditors that's irrelevant, the point is the offer from the RFL was there and Hull took it, they did so as a method of bailing themselves out.
Now either the pre merged Hull is also the new Hull in which case you're statement is wrong or the pre merged Hull came to an end in which case the current Hull FC has no claim to the history of the old club, which is it?
