Minutes from 09/04/11

Matters arising from the minutes of the last meeting:
Fans supporter of the year – Pete has now sent Lisa the press release for supporter of the year, this is to be sent to the winner for checking once the club confirm which match the award can be presented at. Lisa is to chase Laura Smith regarding confirmation wc 11th April and also to check whether James Rule will attend the presentation. Karen is to present the award on the groups behalf, Lisa will take photographs.
FC Voices feature on Hull FC website – Lisa advised that the Hull FC website format has changed meaning that individual profiles of FC Voices group members are now not featured Kathy no longer needs to provide one.
Review of the last month:
FC Voices group meeting minutes – the publication of group meeting minutes was discussed and the group agreed that they be published on both the groups Facebook page and on the RL Fans message board. To ensure that all fans are clear on how to contact the group with any questions / comments the following text is to be added at the end of all published minutes going forward:
“Should you have any questions or comments for the group please contact us via email –
fcvoices@hullfc.com or via our 24 hour answer phone – 07527 965276. All correspondence will be discussed at the groups next meeting and a response published in the meeting minutes.”
World Cup bid – Pete has been invited to attend a photo shoot / interview with the Hull Daily Mail wc 11th April in support of the cities World Cup bid. He confirmed to the group that he’s able to do that.
BBC local Radio in the future a story in the national news on the BBC moving its operations base to Salford was discussed. The Government’s cost saving reduction and potential reduction of services could mean that there will be a greatly reduced service on local radio which could affect RL coverage and sports broadcasts in the future. The group agreed to keep a watch out for any developments.
Agenda points:
New programme packaging – A 14 year old fan had contacted the group querying why the programme, although very well liked, is now being wrapped in plastic as this is causing a lot of litter on the concourse and surrounding areas of the stadium. The group agreed that this is an issue and Pete is to contact the club for their thoughts.
Group membership – the 2 vacant positions on the group (one for an out of town member and one for a standard membership position) were discussed. Pete is to include an advertisement for these positions in the groups match day programme feature, Lisa will then use the details on Facebook and RL Fans.
Heritage Open Day (11th September) – The sub committee for the event are to arrange a meeting in the next month to get more detailed arrangements agreed. Lisa is to arrange a date.
Next fans forum – Pete is to contact the club to agree the date of the next forum and discuss how best we can broadcast the event. As agreed previously the funds raised will go to the Yorkshire Scan Appeal
Treasurers report – current balance is £2819.04
Any other business:
FC Voices website – The feasibility of an FC Voices website was discussed. This would allow easy publication of meeting minutes, financial statements, member profiles, news etc. Karen is to discuss with Howard Callaway and report back to the group.
