i read some of the comments on my thread yesterday and cannot believe the small mindedness on some of them. Rugby is a business and every player has his price, i cannot remeber when radford left when he was one of our best young players(for more money) all the fans saying when he came back they wouldn,t watch hull again,what about raynor when he left for leicester ru in his prime(for more money) or when thackaray left for leeds(to play for his home team and more money) they all came back.The point of it all IS THE TEAM HE LEFT US FOR if hudgell was offering him two and half times more than he earned at hull of course he would take it.Why didn,t our board at the time offer him a better deal.Our board could get themselves one of the best british ball players for probably what he earned when he was last here because nobody will or can afford pay the sort of wages kr have given him the last three years,rugby players have a very short career and if they can earn more money they will take it. This is called economics; sensible replies only it would be nice.
