Quote ="Largeparts"This is something that is not peculiar to this season. Apart from Jamie Thackray, you haven't seen any forward really hitting the ball since Steve Craven (unless some of our brethren with better memories care to correct me !). One of the things that kids get taught when they first start to play is to take the ball from deep. Love or hate Barry McDermott, he always looked like he was putting the required effort into the contact. All this stuff taking the ball from a four or five step run up is not effective.'"
This bugs the hell out of me too. player like King could be destructive running onto the ball, he has that natural aggression but he is one of the worst for standing still while collecting and not making any impact in the collision.
