Tony Smith is pretty relaxed with his Hull FC contract. The Australian has signed a two-year deal with the Black and Whites, not that he is worrying about time scales.

Can’t imagine the response if and when he signs a new deal?

I would rather have an inexperienced assistant who would instill some on field discipline.
Sorting that out would keep us in some games.
Then improve fitness and speed
work on defence
Improve line speed and ruck speed
Then work on attacking options,with better last tackle kicks and turning teams round more with kicks into the in goal
These are basic things for any coach in R/L but Smith in his time here has failed to do any thats why he needs to go

Yeah but he's got a culture plan with no specifics and no due date, can an inexperienced assistant like Matt Peet, Paul Wellens or Sam Burgess offer that?

The word nobody knows what it actually means but sounds good so some fans will buy into that excuse

It's the long term / no time limit thing from Smith that annoys me, and the fact Pearson and Clarke seem to go along with it, they should be demanding improvements every year like year 1, stop the 50 point hammerings, year 2 push for the top 6, year 3 push for the playoff semi finals/grand final, can't just take Tony's word that it'll all come good, he should be judged on success criteria like we are in our jobs
