He's OOC at the end of this year, and can be approached by other clubs at the beginning of May, like anyone else over 19.

So the ring fencing is a waste of time then? Nice that we can trust our academy partners not to shaft us as soon as they got the opportunity

If he doesn't want to sign a new contract, or isn't offered one, then there is nothing we can do.

With who is taking over in charge of the academy for the next two years I think its the shape of things to come myself. It was what a lot always feared would happen.

The ring fencing means nothing if players are out of contract. The amount of players that are coming off the production line is just testament to the outstanding work Richard Horne did with our own academy. Its easy for Rovers with 13 of the team that beat Leeds last week coming from us we can't afford to pay them all top notch but with so many with talent I guess we are trying to spread the jam a bit more thinly and get as many as we can. . They'll just wait for the outstanding ones that are out of contract and offer a lot more than we can! They'll just cherry pick one or two of those out of contract but they'll be the best! It might still have happen had we still got our own academy, but I don't think he will be the last to go!

We offered him a deal and he turned it down , so not much more we could do !

4 year deal and a lot of money for a kid who's only done it for 1 season in the 19's. Typical Rovers, they've paid him the ex-FC premium.
