| Wigan will enjoy home advantage when they take on NRL champions St George Illawarra in the 2011 World Club Challenge.
fook me is Wigan still in charge of everything at RFL? can somebody tell me why this could not have been played at Warrington, Widnes or Leigh(last option) instead of complete home advantage?
somebody want's Wigan to really win this one.

| Other than taking it to a footie stadium there's nowhere near to wigan big enough. I doubt a team who has travelled half way around the world really cares that it's played at wigan's home stadium.
If we ever get to one, I presume you think we should play it at caravan park?

Leeds had home advantage for the past few years and their choice was to use elland road to get a larger attendance. Saints used the reebok for similar purposes. Where as the DW is adequate enough for the attendance and Wigan will feel it will give them a better edge. If we won Super League where would you have us playing it? It would be great at the KC

don't be daft there would be too many chained horses on the pitch to play there.

Of course it would be great at the KC but it just seems everything Wigan is sacred.
I mean when they where on the verge of imploding they somehow bought Fielden mid season and payed his wife as a thank you (allegedly).

I take it you don't want a Wigan win?
The alternative venues don't hold anywhere near enough. Wire 14,000, Leigh 12,000?
Still in charge of the RFL? Like in 1994 when we took an understrength team to Brisbane and beat the Broncos on their own patch in front of 54,000?
We only have a 50% record at Wigan in this fixture anyway. Beat Manly in 87 and lost to Brisbane in 93 so don't worry too much pal. A win is not a certainty.

Fook me, St George are coming half way accross the world, so I don't suppose playing the games a few miles down the road so Wigan don't get home advatage has or never will enter their head.
The WCC is a chance for the NRL and Super League Champions to generate a bit of extra cash. The aussie sides are always happy to come and play the games in blighty becuase they know that there would be little or not interest from the paying public in Oz.

| Don't see it as a massive issue, WHEN we win the grand final i'd assume they'd hold it at the KC. As making us travel to Doncaster, Hudds etc would be pretty pointless.

| It was always intended that the club winning the Grand final would play the game at there home ground.
The trouble has been the game has to go ahead due to Sky and not least the NRL team requirements and this has been difficult as there are only a handfull of grounds where the weather could not have an effect.
Wigan, Wire, Giants and FC are the only SL clubs with the facilities everyone else has to move to a suitable, would KR play it at the KC if we let them ?

We wouldn't have a say. Down to the SMC and how much profit it would make them.
