However, having only been in the country for a few hours I have to say i'm not so happy in the way the local bbc are reporting this news. I just can't help thinking that if this were on the other side of the M62 and was a Leeds proposal they would be a lot more supportive of the decision.

Is it really true that in the last 24hrs we have had our tax bill cleared and been granted planning permission on a new stadium?!

I must be dreaming cos those kind of things don't happen to Wakefield. Or do they....

Massive congratulations to everyone that worked tirelessly to get us to this stage. We aren't there yet but we're a hell of a lot closer than we wouldve been if this day hadn't proved so fruitful.

It's still feet firmly on the ground time, we have jumped a massive hurdle today and one that had we failed could/would have killed off our club.
But we still have the SoS to deal with and as far as I know the taxman still isn't on our Xmas card list and us, not on his.
I will definately crack open the port tonight, but until I see diggers and our mystery creditor materialises a bit, I'm gonna remain as calm as possible.

They went on about the hundreds of people who were against the development,then they interviewed this women,she was from one of the groups against the build ,and she said they would fight on and the decision that had been made was bias,which made me laugh. I think it has been proved what most thought, that the NIMBYS were just that and they were spreading lies and untruths, when it came down to it they were found wanting.

Thought BBC spent more time listing the cons than the pros!!

Well done to all at Yorkcourt, the Community Trust and the club & a massive pat on the back to TRB for coordinating a great campaign supporting the proposals.

There's still an awful lot to be done, but today is a very significant step forward. It's now a race between us & the Tigers to see who can get their detailed planning applications through first....if today's statement by RW on the Cas site is anything to go by I wouldn't be surprised to see both applications getting permission at the same time.

Would be good to see the rfl in a corner on this one.

Great stuff lets hope it's full steam ahead very soon.

theres a lot of banter on here, a lot of disagreements, but a huge pile of respect for all the people, especially TRB, who have got us to this point, we celebtate with them tonight and then we must regroup and promote the greatest rugby league team ever, with by far the best fans to grow and move forward as we hit newmarket, we need a bigger fans base and then we will have the club we deserve, but today is SWAGS day andI hope to a man they are drunk as happy skunks!

just like to say what a good day it has been .To see so many supporters turn up today plus the players n coaching staff .To see the smile on john kears face was amazing lets get behind him and his young squad .Another thing diane maskill keeping the fans up to date on things while the meeting was going on never meet her before but she answered all the questions that people asked well done .
