Not sure beating an equally dire Widnes side equates to rapily improving but new coach syndrome may mean there is an uplift. But the fella coming is has zero first grade coaching experience and his most recent record involves taking a promising Newcastle Knights reserve grade to bottom of the table. Wayne Bennett he ain’t. It won’t be as easy as today but we’ll win with something to spare in both games.

| .Ok Finn is ok if Miller plays like he did to day plus the three quaters line went well .But Gix was average ,missed two one on one tackles that H K scored from. Did not run the ball back once. Ok he scored two trys ,one was from a obstruction ,he was just finishing the move off for the other. Why do other teams look faster than us when moving the ball

| Grix doesn't run the ball back because he organises the play. Running the ball back is the wingers job in Chester's setup. Nothing to do with Grix.
I thought his tries were great and done at speed too. Like it or not, we play better with him in the team. I thought he had a good game....even with the one on one misses.
Our defence has improved massively over the last to years and a lot of people point at Mr Kear for that......and they are right.
But I would also say our defence improved the day Grix walked on to the field. He organises that part of the team play and he is excellent at it.

So what is your fix ?, don't play Grix at all, and don't play Finn if Miller is having an off day ?
I appreciate your shoving xxxx up hill with your nose after winning using all the players you don't want, but I'm just interested in what your alternatives are with the current squad.

Not one for bagging players, but the high ball TJ put down, was the full backs ball every day of the week, you could see the indecision between them, which should not have been there,
full back takes controll.
I know we will never know, but it would be interesting to see were Rookie of the year Max Jowitt would now, with 2 year of games behind him.
On another side note I thought Tyler Randell was immense today.

| Good to see us piling on the points in the second half and not shutting up shop. A great win from the team with a performance that shows what we can do when we are up for it. If we can carry a performance like that into the next few games our confidence will build and we can start looking at who’s above us in the table and not below. Thought the forwards ran well and made good ground which allowed our backs the space to create good flowing rugby .
A very enjoyable game played in most parts in good spirit.

| Great to get back to winning ways.
Excellent team effort but, Fifita and Huby coming on totally changed the game.
Great to see TJ getting over the line and Miller had his best game of the season.
We finally found out attacking prowess, long may it continue.

| Well, I thought that was certainly a game of 2 halves. We were damn lucky to be 18-12 up at half time as the last 25 mins of the half, we were dire. Johnstone started to look like a rabbit caught in headlights at times, in defence at any rate. We were having a serious brain-fart period. Then the 2nd half we were superb and blew them away. Was it 100% completions? Very near if not. Tom, to his great credit, picked himself up and had an awesome 2nd half. I hope that has restored any lack of confidence that appeared to be creeping in, in the fist half. Randell was superb both halves. Fifita looked like he come back re-energised.
That 2nd half showed what we are really capable of if we put our minds to it. More of that please!
Even our dear friend Mr Child was with us today!

| Looked good first 10-15 minutes, then switched off. Shocking last tackle options in the first half which resulted in getting tackled with the ball on two occasions.
McGuire kicked two 40-20's with no effort at all in the first half.
Kyle Wood's short kicking game in the second half caused Rovers all sorts of problems.

Wood changed the game for me, he's a yard quicker at the ruck and his kicking was good!

| You have to say the Randall/Wood interchange is mouthwatering. At 100% peak fitness and dry grounds they both offer something great from dummy half, hopefully this is the restart of our season where we score points galore..

| It was a strange game, points wise we hammered HKR but I came away thinking we'd not played particularly well. Long may it last.

I think we were lucky to be in front at HT but, second half, we were excellent.
Fifita & Huby gave us a significant advantage in the forwards, which gave us time and space on the outside.
The three "disallowed" tries from KR on our right edge in the first half would have made interesting viewing if we'd had the big screen and Sheens certainly thought that one of them should have stood but, that may be the ying to the yang for our disallowed try at Cas.
Also, for the first time EVER, we seemed to have a fair crack of the whip from Child, maybe the sun got to him ??

| Was sat in front of two old hull dockers and their wife’s and before the game started we had a bit of banter about who the ref would help out, turns out on the day we got most of the calls. Seems to me that when teams aren’t playing so well things get sloppy and inevitably you get pinged more, and then you have a mountain to climb to get anything out of the game.

| Grix is slow ,the reason why we were faster in second half was because he was not in involved in a lot of our attacking play, so could not slow us down. The two trys he scored all the lead up had been done by other players. Jowitt as had to play on wet grounds and getting dropped for making less mistakes than Grix . Finn is the player that moves us round the field. All S L Teams have a full back who have got speed, ok they can make a mistakes .But they can beat a player and make 30 or 40 meters.

| Surprisingly little said about Child's performance yesterday. Although I've been one of hissbiggest critics in the past I must admit he did seem to favour us a little at times. All-in-all a clean game with no bad-tempered encounters. Could have done without McGuires niggling at the ref all the time. Must have learned that from Mr Sinfield.

TJ was also running and looking into the sun to take the ball, Grix had the sun behind him. Even more reason for the fullback to have taken control at that point. Fortunately it didn't end up costing us.

| In no time at all he's gonna be a substantial bit of kit when he finally gives up playing, it looks like he's already training for a more sedentary lifestyle.
He's pulling all the levers at HKR though, with Lunt out if he gets injured they'll be in trouble.
