Yes but that doesn't mean they won't leave, just that we can get a fee for them.

Your spot on and I would not be happy at all with them leaving but a fee would at least soften the blow. Also we don't have to sell them if we don't want to.

| True. Doubt anyone would want Higgins or Moore at this point anyway, they didn't up to us signing them. Matty will only be 21 next year and is a local lad. With time being on his side he may well stay put short term. Mariano is a different kettle of fish though. He'll be 25 early next season and needs to be playing superleague rugby to achieve his ambitions. I can see him wanting to move on if the chance is there, which it will be.

You are right about Higgins and Moore no other Super League teams wanted them and although I think Higgins has done well and Moore has shown potential I don't think either of them have done enough to get a contract from a Super League team yet.
Wildie is in a similar situation and I actually think that for his long term prospects he may be better dropping down and having a season in the championship and play week in week out rather than play a handful of Super League games. Danny Brough did a similar thing a couple of times in fact and it has done him no harm.

Pretty sure the club put out that a couple of them were signed on dual contracts - are you saying none of them are?

| i know the agent for Wildie & Moore and he said they have SL contracts that will be void if Wakey go down. He said it is not certain they would leave but Widnes are waiting on the decision before they move for contracted players a half and a forward

definately not and who's to say they wont stay if their contracts are decent but I also heard that Widnes and Castleford have a couple of players on the radar subject to decision.

| Mick Korkidas could be heading back to Salford next season to replace Ray Cashmere. He was popular there in his first spell and there is interest. I wouldn't be surprised to see Josh Vievers join his dad there next year as well.

At the recent meeting Mr Glover told us all that the club would no longer be a selling club he also added that the club would keep its best young players what the hell is happening?

| Interestingly, I was told yesterday eve that not a single WTW player has signed for another club, including Le Barbu.
I wonder if some players are (understandably) making contingency plans in the event that we don't get a licence, and it's been misreported on here to suggest a fire sale is going on? Or, heaven forfend, someone is making mischief?

| Calm down people. If we don't get a franchise then yes players will definitely leave, if we do then yes players will leave but probably not as many as mentioned in this thread. How cas can have anybody on their radar is beyond me, they're nor out of this just yet! I know for a fact Moore is happy to stay on whatever the decision is, he's loving his time at wakey and was devastated when he picked up his injury. Players leaving is not a problem so long as they are adequately replaced for the respective league in which we will be playing. Obviously agents will have been touting players around, not just our players but any player that's out of contract at any club. It's wrong and against the laws of the game but it happens. Think people have over reacted here, if we get the franchise then I'd expect the club to fight tooth and nail for players such as morrison murphy George davey howarth P Johnson morton and possibly Dean. I'd also expect them to try and persuade the likes of veivers g Johnson Hyde king gledhill walshaw annakin trout spiers slater et al that they have an exciting opportunity to stay with a progressive club that is trying to build for the future (king apart these are all young lads). I wouldn't be bothered either way about the likes of griffin, hendo blaymire Tony they'd be decent enough squad players and could do a job if called upon but I'd we could replace them with better players then let them go apart from maybe Tony who could pass on lots of advice and guidance to the youngsters as he has played at the very highest level in the peak of his career. Add some experienced quality players to this group and a coach with a little more flair and panache and we'd have the makings of a very good side. Let's not panic and wait for d-day before we cry in to our beers! There could be yet more twists and turns to come in the next couple of weeks! Keep the faith and stay positive people I know the people at the club who are working their butts off week in week out are all feeling very positive about our chances, the only negativity coming across is from people on this forum!

| I am sure he is happy now moving into full time, and I am sure that like most players will want to stay full time with full time pay. do you really believe that if the worst scenario happens, and players are not offered the pay that they get now and possibly having to go back to a day job, they would not consider moving to another club ?
very naive to think they would not consider other offers.
One thing is for certain come decision day all other clubs and especially Widnes will be waiting in the wings to pounce.

| Do you really think I don't know that?! Obviously widnes will be especially interested you hardly have to be a rocket scientist to work that one out! All I know is that Moore is happy to stay whatever happens. Who knows others maybe too? The majority would want away if it's bad news, that's only natural, some may even want away even if it's good news, that's the nature of sport. You don't know any more than anyone else on here so stop coming on trying to stir things up by pointing out the blatantly obvious!

| The problem is the players that are out of contract will have probably signed for someone else whether we stay up or not due to the uncertainty. Which in our case is most of our squad!

When is the deadline which allows players to legitimately talk to other clubs irrespective of whether the club allows it?

matters not, players talk to agents. thus the club is not "involved"

The contract won't be worth zip as it's too early to sign anyone yet. I remember ben Cockayne signing for cas before the start of his current kr deal. It was all done and dusted then rovers stepped back in and upped their offer which he accepted and signed. The same could happen with our lads should they wish to stay. They may agree terms elsewhere due to the uncertainty but if we get the nod then I'm sure they'll sit down with the club and try to sort out a better deal than they've been offered elsewhere.

Griffin leaving Huddersfield for a worse team (Leeds) is a good example of that.
I think a lot of the negative feeling is also brought on by the results in recent weeks, which seems to point in one direction. It was mentioned on here when we came out of admin that we could probably expect a good 2/3 of a season, and then plument round franchise time when players are lured away. This seems to be exactly what's happening. I agree with you about replacing players - most of the ones we have at the moment are good squad players but not world beaters anyway - and obviously, I really hope our franchise is extended. I just find it hard to see how that could happen at the moment, without blind faith in a greater god.
