| Will still go to games in NL1 and buy my season ticket, merchandise etc. Will miss the trip to France/Cardiff but on the other hand will save a lot of money from not going to these. Son-in-law is a Cas fan (steadygetyerbootson) and said he enjoyed their time in the Championship more than SL although I doubt he will be thinking like this today!
My thoughts also are with the people employed by the club whose jobs may be under threat, it will be a great shame if the hard working people in the community department etc lose jobs. Am I right in thinking that some of this is funded by grants so hopefully some things will be able to continue as they are now.

Ive met him a couple of times and it suprised me that he only had one head, other than that he seemed a decent sort, for a Cas fan
He's a ok guy.

| Well said, Pilchard.
I've not been able to get to many Wakey games over the last three years due to my location (but have been enjoying conference rugby and Sky games - to hell with it, I enjoy watching RL at any level). But Wakey are and will always be my club and it doesn't matter which league they're in.
I think the franchise decision system is a farce but Wakefield as a club have only started to play the right tunes since new ownership. Even then what AG has been able/willing to do is severely limited by the axe over the club's head (in terms of investing in ground development and players, certainly). Sadly, AG has inherited an ill legacy and his best efforts can't erase that from history... it's a pity, as if we had the time in SL to get into Newmarket, invest in our squad and develop our juniors, we could become an excellent SL club. But I seriously can't see past us going down tomorrow.
Instead, I think we're looking at becoming an excellent Championship club. I do fear the "closed shop"... I'm not so sure it will be so easy to get back in at all. But never mind, we can worry about that later. There is some great rugby played in the Championship, and some fantastic clubs to visit with loyal and knowledgeable fans. A great rugby league family.

| In answer to the OP, of course we all will, we have been in this too long and it means too much, we are the best bloody bunch of fans to spend game time with, largely because we dont walk away.
For me it will be the same bunch of nodding acnowledgments next year, people you dont know but you know they share your hope belief and passion for this club.
Tomorrow we start again, wherever that start may be, but this time we have to be realistic, otherwise what we love will be no more.

| Many of you who want to turn your backs on the game will not be able to stay away. I should know I was right there. Thing is, that would only be punishing Wakefield. You might feel bitter but stick with it, the championship is a decent little league and you're better off supporting the club because they'll need you now more than ever.

| Can't see any reason to change the habit of a lifetime, tbh. Circumstances change, but I've always enjoyed going to games, no matter which league we were in. Having met quite a few people off this forum over the years, the enjoyment has increased. It's a good laugh, a few hours out of the daily routine, a few beers with some good lads and lasses, bit of a shout, bit of unwinding, and tops when we win. No reason to change that at all.

| Quote ="Pilchard"The Championship, by whatever name it was then, is where Trinity were when I first started following.
SL has been a very mixed affair for us all. Semi CC, Semi play off (robbed), many great victories, and many heavy hearted defeats. Many flirtations with relegation, but never finishing in a relegation spot.
If, as it would seem will happen, we find ourself in the next tier down, then so be it.
It is a very unfair world we live in, and not just in RL, or sport in general.
Over the last few seasons, going to games at Batley, Dewsbury, Hunslet, Barrow, Fev, etc, (not just games involving Trin) and watching our Academy sides,
has given me a realisation that RL life outside of SL is very attractive.
If we go down, it is the staff, players and others at the club who have done their utmost to present a case for continued SL participation I will feel for.
Tomorrow's decision will not affect my job, and I will be able to watch Trinity next season wherever they play.
I will sleep OK tonight, and if by some quirk we remain in SL, I will be so pleased for those that made it so.
If , as I expect, we go down, then I will not hold it against any other club or it's fans.
As a club we have had long enough, unfortunately our new owners have not.
As a footnote, am I right in saying the night we beat Cas to stay up we had 2 players in the 17 who qualified for GB'"

Yup will stand by our club whatever later today brings. Been to more games this year than previous years home and away, some highs, les cats and hull fc away and lows (hull kr). Not gonna desert now whatever the decision. Our club needs us in the bad times as well as the good. Spare a thought for the lads n lasses at the club,we may lose a franchise they could lose their jobs.

| Having spent most of the night awake. Not for the same reason most of you will have but nursing a very poorly dog who this morning is back up and about and looking a lot better. This has given me plenty of time to think, not about today's decision but trying to answer the question that have been flying round my head for a while. After this season, when this dust settles Will I be there? Will I cancel my Sky sports? will I forget all about Super League? Will I be there for my club? The club that's been such a part of mine and my families life for so long, The club I've followed through thick and thin???
You all know as well as I do being a Wakefield Trinity fan that over the last 30 years there's been a hell of a lot more thin.......But I WAS there,
I was there, in Cardiff, 1982, I believe. We'd travelled all the way down through floods on a nightmare journey but still taken our position behind the sticks and watching the lads warm up only for the ref to come out and call the game off, only for the weather to be even worse for the return fixture at the end of May, That bad that in the second half Wakefield had to borrow Cardiff's third kit of Yellow shirts!
I was there at stood at the open end at Roots hall in the pouring rain, Watching us beat Southend Invicta. The Rain hammered it down all day but that didn't stop a very small handful of us standing behind the sticks cheering the lads on.
I was there stood in the mud at Alt park. watching us play Huyton with a crowd of 350 and watched us against that same side then called Runcorn.
Journeys To Tattesfield and recreation grounds in Rochdale and station roads in Swinton have all been worth while, journeys to see us play Carlisle at three different locations are still lodged deep in the memory bank.
I've seen us play Mansfield Marksman at Mansfield, Alfreton and even Nottingham. Had many a journey up to Cumbria, the strangest was probably when we drew Millom in the cup, we played them in some sort of a park with a temporary fence round it. As I recall the gave us quiet a surprise and did themselves and the game proud.
Now to the London club, Seen them at Craven cottage, Harrow & Whealdstone FC, Chiswick Poly, Crystal palace, The Valley, The stoop, Griffin Park. Some horrible journeys, A real drubbing at Crystal palace in 92 springs to mind, we'd lost about 30-0 and I was starting a new job the next day and travelling to (yep you guessed) London the next day.
Still through thick and thin I WAS THERE and why? Because it was bloody worth it that's why. The feeling I get when I pull on that shirt every Sunday to support my team can never be taken away from me. The feeling when you walk into Belle Vue and look across that lush turf can never go.
You can travel this country or further a field on holiday and its this same old story "Where you from?" "Wakefield" is my reply and I'm sure you all know what comes next "oh yes, Wakefield Trinity" The name makes me proud Just like I'm proud of every young gun that's put on that shirt to give their all for the club or every 'old head' who's come back to show them the way and pass on there experience. Whether they've been mates of Len Casey's or they've travelled half way round the world I've supported then through thick and thin.
We've gone through a lot as a club lately. Some things best forgotten, Some never to be forgotten (RIP Lads) I was there then and I'll be there again. There's just too much to walk away from, Its who I am, A Wakefield Fan through and through. I am and my family are too. Never been prouder than when my Youngest Son was asked to lead the team out in France (made his day too) and recently at the Hull game i Witnessed my future son in-law Perform part of the guard of honour in his role with the Yorkshire Regiment, While in the crowd that day were my Mother, 70 years old and still goes to every game, Myself with my youngest Son alongside me and our two Daughters in the crowd too the eldest had taken our two young Grandsons to see there Daddy on the pitch. Looking round Belle Vue that day was very special, Four generations of our family there.
Sorry for rambling on far to long but just to confirm.....I WILL BE THERE!!!! come what may, Super League I can live without Sky Sports I can live without But a World without Wakefield....NEVER. I'll be there, I'll be loud and most of all I'll be proud

| Great post whingecat. We've still got our club but super league will lose one of the jewels in its crown. Their loss not ours.
