Starbug, you make a lot of good points and the grief your getting is because a lot of it what people don't want to hear.

They is no doubt decisions have been made which have contributed to the situation we now find the club in and things could been done a hell of a lot better, but as a club with small support and no wealthy benefactor it's also a case of trying to spin too many plates at the same time. Those plates have been wobbling for a while and are now falling off.

Personally I believe the inevitable now is administration. The lack of info and confusion regarding the share offer has largely contributed to that. I think most fans accept Trinity will be the club to leave SL in July, if they are still an entity of some sort. The key now is making the best of what the future holds.

Isn't it just the obvious thing that money coming into the club through the gate does not match the money going out in wages and bills? If we operate at a loss all the time, then sometimes off-loading players is how you balance the books. There's nothing to hide. It's just simple economics.

I presume that our survival was always dependent on Newmarket, where there would be a chance that gate receipts would begin to overtake expenditure and we could start to build something. I would agree that from the outside looking in the club does appear to be run in a corner-shop style, it never feels like a smoothly run operation, but my take is that the problem is simple economics, and always has been, not really the leadership.

If Mr Richardson has invested his own money over they years in the Wildcats that will have been in the form of loans, if Mr Richardson then decides to call the loans back in that is his right, especially as it appears he is ready to stand down.

One easy way to do this would be to drastically reduce the wage bill to players, something that is surely obvious to us all that has happened for this coming season. Lets not forget there is the money from SKY and the lower the wages the more money left over.

So it is very easy for TR to recoup the monies he has loaned to the club at the same time selling his shares to the genral public. TR can walk away form the club with no loss to himself but at the same time no gain.

' left over ' , how do you equate that with losing money , year on year ? , yes he might want to cover perhaps a guarantee or two against himself personally , but to suggest ' no loss ' after how many years ?

I suggest it is you that should get real and wake up to what is actually happening.

Whatever peoples opinion TR is a succesful businesman and succesful businessmen are not in the habit off giving money away.

Let me put it simply for you:

4 super league players on 100k / year

Release those players and sign 4 average players on 30k / year

Savings = 280k

Now tell me an investor cannot recoup the money and while there may be money left over it has still gone but to the investor who wants his money back.

You are presuming that up to this year having paid those players 100 K , you were breaking even , quite possibly the 280 K might be a normal seasons loss , one that he is unwilling or unable to sustain any more , so yes this seasons squad might not be able to perform to recent standards , maybe things have just come home to roost at a most inconvenient time for WTW

Probably 90 percent of pro sports clubs owners do exactly that , they are successful businessmen , then they take over at a charity which is better known as a football/rugby/RL club , they then forget everything they ever did to make them ' successful ' in business

The blame has to fall at the feet of Tony Martin, he was at the London Broncos they went into financial ruin. He played for us and we are on the brink, then went to Crusaders they went into administration. Just saying no smoke without fire.

Joking aside, I don't think either Pearman or Richardson can be held completely accountable. The problems we have now are a product of not moving with the times. The problems started before many of us on here started watching Wakefield, maybe even before many of us were born. It is fair to say that from 1960 to 1963 we were a, if not the dominant team in the league and kept that going for around about another 5yrs or so not as successfully. The problem is that the club has always been run like a family business not a Professional Sports Club. As the club have got older we have looked more like an also ran rather than a club of any substance. Yes our attendances have dropped over the decades but who's hasn't? We can point the finger at the stay away supporters and say get down to Belle Vue because that is one reason we are like we are. The truth is that because of the decline of the club for the last 40yrs + we are trying to play catch up by charging higher gate entry fees, granted not as high as some but they have a product to sell to their public. If we had just had some stability in the past we wouldn't be where we are now.

Some have said that we have had the most success while in the super league with the play-offs and a cup semi final. As in the past we failed to build on that and always will unless something changes.

IMHO going into administration wouldn't be the end of the world and would more good than harm. The thing that does kill you only makes you stronger. We need to learn from our mistakes of the past and build for a future, Super League is here to stay whether in it's current form or not, with us or without us only time can answer that one.

I don't care what competition it is I go watch I only care that it is Wakefield Trinity (with or without) Wildcats competing. Honestly I don't even care if it is at Newmarket or Belle Vue.

Most players are treated like crap by most clubs they are either not paid enough and leave for more money , ie clubs fault

Or they are not offered a new contract and leave , ie clubs fault

Same with coachs , they are either successful and leave for somewhere better or are not good enough and are sacked

You have entirely missed the point, that if they want the money back they can get the money back, and any investor can if they wish call in there loans.
