as much as I would like to blame the BOD for being incompetent, the fans for being so fickle, I truly blame the RFL applying pressure at a time when even the ardent fan is finding it a struggle to the money to come and watch

I have been saying exactly the same for some time mate, we are in the biggest reccession in living memory for some adults and the RFL are pressurising clubs to build new stadiums. Thats right - NEW STADIUMS!! Its not like its a small thing they are asking us to do. The building industry is on its harris. They could cause clubs to fold with such demands. Its a bloody joke, and so are the RFL.
The other thing is, how can they say one club will come up and one will go down BEFORE they have evaluated the applications. What if all the clubs in SL are better than the championship ones, do they still send a club down because they said thats what they were going to do. It wouldn't stand up in court, but of course the clubs have been stopped from taking it to court by the RFL.
Franchising does make the sport stronger if it gets rid of relegation, but it hasn't. Its just every three years now, and the RFL get to choose who to send down, and make ludicrous demands of clubs. The Aussies just add to the league, whats wrong with that?

I cannot see us surviving let alone pushing for promotion/franchise for 4 years should we go down/lose franchise stadium or no stadium. We were only getting 1 - 1,500 before we got promoted how many are gonna watch NL1 with no prospect of promotion and who is going to fund it?

Well the club have not entered into administration yet so unless things change later evening they will either be wound up or continue trading.

I'm led to believe the club have an agreed payment plan with HMRC but their representative wanted it rubber stamped legally, hence this court action.

I have heard rumours of the same thing from some people very close to your club but i was'nt going to post anything as i knew i would just get accused of trolling (I probbably still will), but these guys have never been too far off the mark in the past. Also do any of you on here find it a bit strange how people at your club keep playing this down as a non story, Fair enough with a bit of luck for you this could all be sorted tomorow for you but to show so little fear of a winding up order seems very strange to me. afterall why would HMRC issue one of these if there was no problem there to be sorted .

It's a long road so you need to be more specific to satisfy me.

Wishful thinking on the part of some.

If we go into administration we are finished as a Super League club for good. No point having a shiny new stadium if we don't have a future in Super League.

Why would we apply for administration ? Our debt is with HMRC - they don't accept CVA's and payment of 20p in the £ - you pay in full or are liquidated. So if we go into administration what are the advantages - lose SL status and still owe the Tax Man. We either pay HMRC (or agree a payment plan) or we are wound up.

Don't believe those who are wishing this on us to put them in a better position themselves - wait for the facts.

I've heard that there's a lot of "bankers" in Castleford and one or two in Featherstone. Probably some in Wakefield as well.

Genuine question, would the HMRC be willing to agree another payment plan when the one agreed earlier in the year has led to the club being issued another winding up order?
