| Great statement from SWAG, reminding all concerned about the past duplicity of both WMDC & Box where WTRLFC are concerned.
Whatever happens I hope that the outcome sees both clubs surviving as viable SL clubs - anything less would be a disaster for the district of Wakefield.

| No doesnt help me, if our scheme is independantly sustainable, what does the previous thornes stuff matter, or is it only sustainable with the pledge of the cash from the land sale?

| So, am I right in saying that SWAG are still convinced that Newmarket is a go'er, but are worried that political shenanigans may try to remove some of the funding guarantee and use it to bolster the Cas stadium? Is it conceivable that WMDC are so convinced that Newmarket will go ahead that they feel they no longer need this guarantee, and see it as a chance to boost TWO areas?
Or is it the same old WMDC - teasing, but when it comes to the crunch running a mile. Only time will tell - but it's doing my head in!!!!

No land is to be sold - at least not yet. Funding towards the stadium was to be made available to both schemes via the opportunity to borrow money and set it against the land. Peter is now threatening the removal of even this last effort - despite letting us get 2 years down the road thinking we would get it - not just the time since it was rubber stamped by cabinet last year!

It's just another way of saying "look, you've cacked on us once, have some decency and don't cack on us again". And it's absolutely bang on.

| Why did Box choose to make a press release only to the Wakey rag, no consideration to letting the Pont and cas readers know about this. Could it be that he believes they have no need to worry about such matters as their beloved Pete is making sure they get what they want.

| Wouldn't trust Box as far as a could throw him. Cas are happy to have a review where as Trinity don't see the need to have one as long as the promised land loaned to the trust remains in place.
Think that says everything about the intentions of Box.
They wanted to disregard the community facilities on offer at Newmarket in any such review. Wonder why that is.

| Is Glasshoughton Box's council constituency? because I get the feeling, looking around the place he won't be happy till he has a rugby ground and even a cathedral to complete the place. Boxville ?

| Some of you will be wondering why we didn't come clean earlier about our involvement in this.
This was all meant to be kept as a private matter - with any announcements only coming via agreed worded statements. One man has decided to open Pandora's Box (!) and open this up to public debate. His reasoning is to try and force the clubs to agree on a process that they cannot. He is now playing hard-ball with the packets of land offered to both clubs - and this from someone who purports to support Rugby League in the district.
We will stay strong - as we - the club / trust / developer - still believe that this can be done.

| Incidentally, I got a response back from Cllr Denise Jeffery who is council member for Glasshoughton and Cas Central.
She says that the council are working hard to keep both clubs in Super League.

No, Altofts and Whitwood.
And according to his 'Declaration of Interests' he has 40 x 10p shares in Cas

is Box's threat to remove the offer of the land lease extended to both clubs. Could we proceed without this offer or is it central to our plans?

As long as they work to the latest set of rules they have invented.
Years of nothing (or worse) from them have resulted in none of our clubs having suitable facilities. Now they want to be seen to be our saviours - by forcing one club into the others.
I'm not against the Cas' development, never have been, but my job relates to Wakey - and Glasshoughton isn't part of it (other than by a 30year old accident)

| Does one man in the council hold so much sway? Let's get Neil Fox involved - he could tell Box if he pulls the rug on Trin AGAIN he's gonna get Neils award for the freedom of Wakefield stuffed so far ..... you get the drift! Being a RL hero Neil might even get the odious, obsequious scum-loving Harry Gration to feature the event on Look North.
