| As an away supporter who was, for the first time I can remember at Wakey, segregated and treated like some sort of leper, I shall not be visiting your ground again until they stop this stupidity. I've always stood happily mingled with the home fans, and until this year, never seen any trouble. This year, fans were segregated, and some idiots kicked off.
Treat people like animals and you'll find they react like animals .......
Footnote: Cas did something similar (apparently because of trouble they'd had with Trinity/KR fans the 2 games previous), but it was not as rigidly applied. The stewards 'advised' Wire fans to not stand in the 'home end' .... but didn't actually stop anyone ..... and there was no trouble either in the ground or in the local pubs afterwards.
Something tells me you lot need the money that 1500-2000 Wire/Saints/Leeds/Wigan fans bring in .... so it's a bit stupid to treat us like we're not welcome?

As I said previously, plenty of away fans have stood in the 'home' end. In particular two Leeds fans entered the Northern Terrace Turnstiles right in front of me without a whimper form the gate operator (who are generally just young kids so I don’t blame them for not saying anything).

define " the system that has worked for the first hundred or so years - just stand where you like." We were fined because of trouble that happened at the cas game - that suggests it wasnt working that well.
Like i said i'm not a fan of segregation and you could easily argue the policy we have had since wasnt working very well for the trouble at the home game against Widness to manifest, but we have what we have and the facilities at the ground have to be able to support it.
You only have to watch tv and look around at society to see that to a large degree, the rl fan of 100 years ago is a dim and sadly distant version of the one that is in attendance thgese days and strategy for managing such events as RL matches has to match the social changes.
Like KK suggested there are ways around the system should you wish to exploit them - although we would not recomend that of course.

Approximately 95% of people are naturally immune to lepresy and sufferers are no longer infectious after as little as two weeks of treatment.
Now weve got the overkill dealt with, do you think it would have been wise to have ignored the RFLs warning and done nothing?
Nobody really suggests that segregation is a good idea, just sometimes a practical one.
Don't come if you feel so bad, just send us a cheque or postal order for £22.00 and all will be fine

| Easy one is this! Buy your season ticket, your club needs you to more than ever, that shouldnt even be in doubt if you ask me. Then comes the really tough decision....if the club chooses to segregate then just get on with it, still a lot more choices and better viewing points than at most away games....

Stewards stopped me as I approached the turnstiles and basically escorted me 'round to the side street ... and my son, and the elderly bloke with his wife behind us. We must've looked like trouble makers.
As for the £22 ....... I'm keeping it for when Bradford come 'round with the collection buckets AGAIN !

| It might be hard but now is the right time to review the outcomes of segregation and create a "thought through" policy that works.
The problems at the Cas match which initiated this particular round of strife were caused by ill conceived attempts at segregation and farcical rabblerousing by the club, not by civilised spectators who are now having to pay the price for badly constructed overreaction.

| All this began with the Let's Go North campaign. The club wanted segregation that night, and look at the problems it caused.
And, as people said at the time, when the trouble started against Widnes, people were running from the North Stand to join in. Having said that, everyone on the West Terrace that night knew what was brewing 30 minutes before it all kicked off. Everyone except the security that is.
All segregation has done is move the troublemakers somewhere else. If they want trouble, they'll find it regardless of where they're stood.
Ultimately, this has cost the club season ticket holders at a time when they need them most.

I think it was "the city is ours" campaign for the wakey v cas game that caused hackles to be raised initially.

| Well I have to say I like segregation.
Makes the place safer.
Even if the trouble has been moved, at least I now know where it will be and don't go there.

| I feel it has had exactly the opposite effect.
Potential troublemakers are now grouped together and potential flashpoints have been created along the dividing lines. Previously hotheads were spread around the crowd but without the critical mass and the spark to ignite the tinderbox. We have now created the perfect environment for thugs to reign supreme and Belle Vue is no longer the safe and friendly ground it was not so long ago.
Get rid of segregation and we can remove most of the stewards and you immediately decrease the potential causes of discontent and reduce the opportunities to cause trouble.

| Have to admit i don't like the segregation one bit. Found it lessened my enjoyment of the game and is one more reason why i am rapidly falling out of love with the game.

| If folk want to stand "anywhere", just arrive in civvies, and stand where you like.
I've yet to hear anyone come out and say that they favour segregation. However, as the club (and others) have pointed out, away fans usually have their own area at other grounds, with the exception of Warrington and KR, so why the tantrums ?
Also, for any wavering home fans who don't want to renew their S/T for one reason or another,
you need to think long and hard about whether you want to watch Wakefield at all.
It's imperative that we compete next season and the fewer people that renew their memberships, the leaner the squad we will have on the field.
If you want us to compete, buy your S/T NOW, please.

Ha ha. Good point.
I have stood and sat in pretty much every part of the ground at some stage.
The only bit I've never really taken to is the centre point on the Western Terrace. Probably just because in a crowd it's hard to ee the corners.
But there have been plenty of times when it gets a little tense with away supports.
I've had plenty of arguements but nothing physical, but that's partly because you can see that kind of crowd a mile away.
We have a bunch at the self proclaimed chavs corner, and now in the north stand. They are vocal and feisty sometimes but it's only an issue if you put them next to the opposition idiots too.
If it was my job to control that, I'd rather I knew where they were.
When the idiots ran down from the North Stand they should have been stopped on the way. There was no reason to do what they did unless they wanted trouble.
The problem with all that is that it costs us money.
Kepping them apart costs security money
Letting them do their own thing costs us fines with RFL
Can't win.

| Not fussed either way about segrgation, being a football fan as well I am more than used to it so dont really see an issue with it my self but can see why some would be upset.
One thing it has done is improve the atmosphere at Belle Vue and that is deffo a positive.
