| Would be crazy to let go IMO......
His distribution is first class....gives Tim Smith the extra few seconds to show his class....I think he'd be better utilised coming off the bench to speed that play the ball area up when there's a few more tiring bodies on for Smith to exploit more...... and after Aiton has done his stuff.....
Kyle Wood has also done excellent this back end.....i'd keep Wood to work closely alongside Tim Smith and get him back playing 7 like he did when in the academy with us.....he couldn't have a better mentor anywhere to learn the game from.....when we inevitably lose Smith further down the line then hopefully he will have brought Kyle along nicely......it would also give the option of covering for possible injury to either Aiton or Ellis.....especially with the loss of bright prospect Ryan Wright....
Suppose a lot depends on the future at the club for the likes of Sykes, Wildie & John aswell.....

| Ellis is a much better hooker that Aiton. Half the reason why Tim Smith has looked so good these last 8 games is because Ellis has been playing.
Have said it from match one, Aiton is just simply not a hooker, we have to find a place for him but that place is not hooker.

| Ellis before Wood every time for me. Consistent performances game after game rather than the odd touch every 5 or 6 games.

Nah, Aiton is better than Ellis for me. Ellis arrived just as the team were getting it together, I guarantee you won't think so next year as Aiton takes full advantage. That said I do think Ellis is SL standard so surprised he's dropping a level.

Agree completely;the speed of Ellis' passing has, no doubt, given Smith more time and space to dictate the course of games since his inclusion.
If true it's not a decision I would have made but if we aspire to a higher level these type of tough decisions will have to be made.

| Disappointed if Ellis has gone/is going but as others have said suppose I should reserve judgement until we know the make up of the squad for next year. We need to get the best out of the money we have, so it may be that keeping Wood and letting Ellis goes allows us to strengthen in other areas (given I would expect Ellis to be on more than Wood).

| Ellis actually takes the line on from dummy half and aiton tends not to, having that variation would be good for the side IMO.

| Hope this is wrong, Ellis is a much better all round hooker than Wood and the perfect foil for Aiton. It would be a mistake to release him imho.

| Ellis made a big impact when he was with us earlier this season. Other clubs might come in for him but players are wanting to come and play for us at the moment. I hope the rumour is true, no doubt we will ask the question on Wednesday at our fans forum.
Well done for this season. Early on it didn't look good but you certainly gave the Whinos a scare at their gaff in the play-offs.

| Well after all the early season calls about some of our players last season not getting a game when we couldnt win a game there is Matty Wildie who has been on duel reg and James Davey out at Sheffield.
We cant have our cake and eat it and I agree with the coach the team needs strengthening in areas, AE has been great but I am not sure he could last as his intensity for 80 minutes hence the need to rotae him with Wood, Aiton plays many more minutes and can cover at loose.
If the Foxy rumour is true it might also back up the Probiz blokes claim about shifting brass into Fev for some quality players. I would like us to sign a flyer on the wing, Foxy is great and never shirks running out of defence but on Saturday in open play leeds appeared yards faster than our defence.
Decision on Mathers too if he goes BC can cover full back this would give the opportunity for another winger or Danny Cowling/Sam Fletcher to start in the first team. What we really need is a big enforcer up front.
I think we are looking pretty good given that we usually change the majority of the squad each season we are now looking at critical positional changes to improve the whole team.

Fox has joined Featherstone - they have signed Joe Fox from Huddersfield, perhaps it is 'cross communication'

| Its a tough call.
I think Ellis is by far our best 9.
Aiton for me is a 13. That said so is Washbrook....
Concern for me is would Aiton or Washy be as effective out wide/in the back row?
Re Wildie - sorry to say it but I just don't think he's good enough (sorry)...

| Wood and Mellars are the only squad members I would like to see released. I think Wildie should be above Wood in the pecking order.

| Disagree re Wildie above Wood.
Also disagree re releasing both Wood & Mellars
Far more to come from Mellars IMHO and Wood
Wood has played well at times this year to a far higher level than I have ever seen Wildie achieve
What exactly did Wildie do in his stint at Batley? He's not been ripping it up tbf as he?

| I think Ellis deserves special praise this guy has come into the team not SL match fit weve won 7 in a row. Excellent seems like he had been playing in this team for years. Outstanding. If we let him go we are crazy. Cannot fault Kyle wood either I would keep them both. Davey and Wildie will probably leave.

| Would be very, very dissapointed if this is true, the last 8 games have proved what Ellis brings to the team, and the last 2 games have said everything about what Agars thoughts are on the Ellis/Wood debate, (Ellis 20 mins then never seen again).
It's quite obvious teams target Wood and we concede a lot more points when he is defending in the middle and to me we can't afford to do this with Tim Smith in the side who has to defend in the centres.

Agreed. Wildie showed enough last year in what was a very average side to be awarded the rising star award if im not mistaken? I dont see that much from Wood to make me think he is any better. Yes, he has come on and made a difference on the odd occasion, but so did Wildie last year. Cas away anyone?? I would go as far to say that Wildies defence is better and he is stronger in the tackle.
It appears RA has made his decision and right now, who am i to question it??? Given a choice, i would have Aiton & Ellis but personally on this occasion i think it is more financial than anything, with other positions being the priority.
