| The project is too good to refuse its a great benefit to the City and district even coun box can't try to stop this. The facilities and jobs the project brings without council funding its a winner allround. People have siad that building the stadium is a sweetner to get the commercial units up. But it could work the other way round, 2000 jobs and state of the art community sports facilities in this current economic climate even the WMDC can't hold this up.

I think it may well get called in, but it equally likely that it is passed straight back without an inquiry.
The cost of a public inquiry and the need to stimulate the economy are factors not lost on the new Government.

I'll clarify this point about Cas for you. We've got outline PP. We only need to apply for Full PP and we can build. We will be applying for full PP in the near future.
We've done groundworks - once full PP is submitted we'll be doing the stadium contours. Hope that clarifies the situation for you.
I'll leave the Wakey fans to argue the toss with you about their stadium plans.

| What on earth will we talk about when we are in a new stadium? Oh, I've got an idea...how about Rugby League?!!!
Am I the only who is getting fed up with the multiple threads about the (possible) new ground? Can't we have just one (sticky) thread that everyone who has stadium news, wants to debate etc posts on?

Ask Brighton & Hove Albion how far that got them when their stadium plans were called in.

| just browsing over other teams sites and looking at salford they dont seem to be any further forward than us really!! In fact apparently according to their local sources they are cutting size of ground to 12000 ( with options of expansion to this). Local council funding falling away? Budget a bit tight?? who knows? Its like Cas the rumours were they build 2 stands one season and two stands the season after?? everything is not rosey in anyones garden so to me we should look after our own and knackers to everybody else!!

I firmly believe this guys if you were a big fan of cas why would you bend your back to get wakey a ground?? You wouldn't and this guy isn't thats for sure. If he was passionate and was a wakey fan the ground would be built by now. I don't by Mr Box Ball*cks he talks rubbish. It boils down to this theory Mr Box has let us as a sporting city down for so long becuase he is CAS born and bread. Its like a scouser in charge of Manchester council it doesnt work because they have no desire to go the extra mile. If TRB was our council leader the ground would be up by now these lads are willing to go the extra mile Mr Box is not because he has no love for Wakey RLFC but much love for Cas Tigers.'"
Mr Box a Cas fan getting in the way of Wakefield building a new ground. How come Cas don't have a new ground with being fortunate enough to have Mr Box has a fan?

For all the help Peter ‘I’m just trying to help both clubs’ Box can provide Cas, he can’t exactly pull £20 notes from his backside to enable Cas to build the project. He’s done his best to try and ensure all the ‘assistance’ the council is providing be diverted to that development but lost that battle when the strength of feeling from the interested parties of Newmarket became apparent.

What groundworks? When I drove past the other day it didn't look much like any groundwork was done at all! Just an old sign with woodworm that's been there for a good 3 years! Land has possibly been prepared but not specifically for a stadium! If you fail to come up with the dosh I'm sure an other project in time will be benefit from the so called groundworks.

You know that video of RW in a hard-hat? This one to refresh your memory: https://castigers.powweb.com/cgi-bin/tigertv.cgi?52
Well that's what groundworks has taken place. Once the design specifications are sorted they will then do the stadium contours, if that helps. This was stated in RW's April blog.
As for funding, all should be revealed in the future cocker. We already know the key stakeholders and we know what needs to be done.

deja vu 2007 and still nothing since. Obviously to anyone not so blind it's quite clear the moneys not there! Like I said groundworks to make land available to develop on, what ever may be built there!

| Although we've just signed a contract to state the stadium is going there.......? Wake up mate, the fact is a stadium going to be built there. No, there are issues to overcome in getting the funding, look at Hickson's for example.
These have not moved over the past year or two hence the delays.

You mean you've had planning permission for 3 years and you never had the land to build on? mmm sounds fishy to me! I personally think you've had this contract since outline PP was granted. Dickie Wright had to tell the fans something in his panic statement (the on a couple of days after Wakey told Cas to do one!)
Even if you have just signed a contract to have exclusive rights to that land I'm pretty sure it will be time sensitive. It's not like Waystones are going to keep the land undeveloped for ever. It certainly not a fact that a stadium is going to be built there. If you don't provide the dosh in a certain period of time ( 3 years already gone) I'm sure the land will be turned over to a project thats does have the dosh. The clocks ticking..

I'm under no doubt about that one. September is our Waterloo at least we will know one way or the other. For Cas with this never ending funding crisis it could in reality go on for ever.

Sounds like you're searching for any excuse to try and criticise GH to me.
As for a "funding crisis", it's only the Wakefield fans that really believe that and keep pedalling that theory.
