| Quote ="MC_Wildcat"No team in Superleague has been consistent this year ! That is why there has been no runaway leader or obvious winner of the league leaders trophy until the last matches of the season.'" I'm not expecting to win every week. I'm not expecting whatever you call consistency. I am expecting some kind of Rugby intelligence and some kind of effort. For goodness sakes...we were beyond abysmal. beyond embarrassing on Sunday. I expect some kind of acknowledgement of that from the club. It was not acceptable. I turned up for a competitive RL match and found a bunch of player with our colours on who could not care less. And that is a fact. I wont hear anything else. They were lethargic and disinterested from the kick off. The boos at half time and the fact the Hull KR could have got the slippers and cigars out led to a sterile and dismal 2nd half almost as bad as the first. It takes 2 to tango and our lot were partying at 1 o'clock.

| Quote ="King Street Cat"Great stuff. Next season's season ticket sales are based on today's result. A result that by the time next season kicks off will be about 6 months ago. If people are still smarting from today's result in 6 months time they really need to seek psychological help.
Forget this season. The whole point was to avoid the drop. Sure it would have been great to finish 9th or 10th but it didn't happen. Even if we had've it would have meant nothing more than 11th or 12th. I feel honoured to have been mentioned in the race for the 8 knowing that at the start of the season we had already been written off as certainties for the drop.
This season is done. We're still in Super League. Next season is another ride on the rollercoaster. Get your ticket!'"
Sorry utter nonsense. Yes this season was about staying up. It is also about trying every match and playing your heart out every game. Sunday was a disgrace. No effort. No care. I expect a Trinity team to go out and give 100% every match. They did not on Sunday. They were not interested. I won't accept that, staying up or not

| Quote ="4foxsake"WTW simply cannot afford to keep putting in performances like that.... They continually ask for support and patience from the fans however when the players put up displays like that then fans are going to stay away, season ticket sales will fall, ticket sales in general will fall and revenue will fall. If Wakefield can put together a decent side that gives 100% then crowds will follow, but the players have to show the fans something more than they did today. I was at Hull KR away, and said then it couldn't get much worse, thought today the lads might have gone out there with a point to prove... how wrong was I!
On a side note I'm hoping JW gives Jowitt Walshaw and Annakin a good run in the team next year... its about time we started bringing our academy lads through! Was disappointed the first two did not feature today.'"
Well my friend I could not agree more. Sadly we have let Walshaw go and yes we did get worse than HKR away that I was also at. And yes, the COMPLACENCY I HEAR AMONGST THE HAPPY CLAPPIES ON HERE mirrors the complacency of the club. All I want is to hear people acknowledge is how utterly unacceptable that kind of rubbish is. We seem to accept our lot..well that cost me a day of my life I won't get back and about 40 quid. I am not happy. So you lot who think you are Trinity saviours can have a think cos the rest of us are getting pretty sick of it. I saw Mr Carter getting a few words at half time in the cats bar. To be fair he handled it very sensibly and my observation of a few situations is I think he is ok but he cannot let this kind of day keep happening. I am long term trinity AND THAT SERIOUSLY pd me off on Sunday if you hadn't noticed

| Wakefield are no different to any club, if you look on any club's forum you will see exactly the same reasoning.
The performance was not good but over the years I have seen much worse and I have got over them.
I am not an happy clapper, I have often criticised the club but I am also a realist because we are what we are, we don't have a wealthy backer but yet we continue to surprise so called experts. The players we sign mainly come to us because they have something to prove but along with this strategy comes performances deemed unacceptable.
I would understand some on the forum if we had the resources of Salford who have tried to buy success being angry at the way their season has gone and the heavy defeat against us.

You're the one who suggested that people were making the decision on the basis of one game alone which is not the case. Perhaps look closer to home for accurate reasoning. You also managed to avoid addressing the main issue of the post: Chicken or egg?

| Put a line under it now folks. Last season has gone.
The last result of last season is history.
Next season, new players, the majority in place now, not January - surely some need for optimism?

I'm surprised just how many quality new signings we have in place already, all who will benefit from a full preseason and be ready to go come next season. I'm confident we won't be worrying about work permits and visas and who's going to play where come the first league game.

| Quote ="Kevs Head"Vastman - I've had a season ticket for six of the last seven years. I have my reasons for not buying one next season - one of them being the lack of consistency over the SL era. I'm simply fed up of going to games and, coming away disappointed. I don't mind losing, I do mind brainfarts and dumb rugby. Anyway, according to you, not buying a ST makes me dumb or malicious or childish or pathetic. You on the other hand haven't bought a ST since 2009. Presumably you had your reasons for not buying one and presumably you weren't being dumb, malicious, childish or pathetic. We all support the club in our own ways. Posters on this forum forget you are a small minority of Trinity supporters. Instead of the insults against long standing supporters you might use your time trying to persuade the 3500 fans we seem to have lost this season'"
Hi Lampy,
Think you're being a tad oversensitive here as my point was not aimed at you. I can understand anyone who has watched the Trin for 40 years perhaps wanting to step back a bit - I have so no dig from me.
It was aimed at those who have been heaping praise on the team and the coach for month now only to spit the dummy out over one poor effort that had little effect on our season.
Not to sure of your reasoning, personally I think the last 10 years starting in 2004 has been the most consistent era since the sixties but I kind of get you. Only one relegation fight and quite a lot of time spent in the top half of the table (relatively speaking). Not great but not the horror shows of the 80's and mid 90's.
Anyway, hope you think again once you've rested in the winter month - we need you

| For what it's worth, I'll put my two penn'orth in
Sunday was unacceptable - even with nothing to play for in terms of the league, the players should still put effort in for the fans because without them there's very little point in the club existing. There was clearly a lack of desire on Sunday.
However, Wakefield are my team, I will go and support them while ever there is a team to support because it's in my blood. I might moan about it and sometimes I even come away saying I won't bother next week, but by the time it comes around I'm ready to go again.
A mate of mine spoke to Chris Riley at the end of season presentation and Chris apparently said that he loved it at Wakey because the victories mean so much more to fans that at clubs like Warrington. I guess that's why I turn up to every game that I can, because when we do get that win the feeling is great, when we don't, well, that's almost the norm over my lifetime of watching.
As for the purchase of a season ticket, for me it's a simple case of economics. I weigh up how many games I get for "free" by buying a season ticket and if that's more than I'm likely to miss through other commitments then I'll buy one. If the difference is minimal then I'd buy one as I believe it is better for the club to have my money in advance. So, I haven't got mine yet but I will do so before the end of the 'early bird' offer as I know that will probably be of beneficial value to me. If for some reason I can't get it before then, I'll reconsider whether £250 represents value to me in terms of games.
I'd be very surprised if the match day price doesn't increase again so looking to be £23 next year. 11 games at £23 = £253 so if I think I will miss no more than 3 games then I will still buy one I guess.
At the end of the day I know that by buying in advance the club have a better idea of what they can spend on next years squad and after the last few years I'm happy to give them my money in advance and hope that it means a little bit more can be spent on the squad as the income is guaranteed.

On behalf of Lampy (if I may be so bold) and myself, I thank you!!!
I've been a bit naughty arguing the way I have 'cos I won't actually be around for the first half of next season but I'm sure I'll be at every match from then on and if the club does a "mini ST" I may well be interested!!!
Regards

| I'm not having a go at anybody on here, but just out of intrest,if JW had played Jordan ,Max and Tom Johnson,I hoped he would by the way,and the result was the same, would it be a case of credit for playing them or why did he play a weakened team?I'm sure they would have made a good fist of it.If Collis had not been fit Jordan was playing but reading things posted on here about Sundays team and their performance, god knows how I would feel if he had.

Ok lets have a look at this inconsistency claim - lets take the last 11 games since Webster took over...
Wildcats v London Broncos 18 - 10 Poor game, got the win (they pushed Hudds n Widnes hard after this)
Wildcats v Wigan Warriors 36 - 28 Great win and performance
Wildcats v Hull FC 20 - 20 Scrappy game but great character
Wildcats v Leeds Rhinos 16 - 14 Great win against the champions
Wildcats v Widnes Vikings 12 - 10 Good performance against a top 8 side and a win
Catalan Dragons v Wildcats 40 - 6 Curse of S France, not the only team to get a hiding here
Warrington Wolves v Wildcats 26 - 40 Great win and performance
Wildcats v Huddersfield Giants 18 - 36 Beaten by the better side, no disgrace here
St Helens v Wildcats 20:00 40 - 16 Towelled away at top of the league
Wildcats v Salford Red Devils 42 - 6 Crushed a resurgent & expensive Salford, who were in goodish form
Castleford Tigers v Wildcats 26 - 22 Great comeback at 2nd after a disappointing start - no one left unhappy
Wildcats v Hull Kingston Rovers 18 - 42 Awful performance, soundly thrashed.
So one nightmare game out of the last 11, (HKR) maybe 2 more in the "poor" category (Les Cats & Hudds) and the rest have either been good performances with some spectacular highlights (Wire, Salford, Leeds)
I really don't see what all the doom and gloom is about? Yes its a shame we saved our worst performance for the last game and I was as disappointed as anyone but all in all, I don't think we've got anything to be frothing at the mouth over.

Bang on !
Too many people seem to be looking for reasons not to purchase a season ticket rather than looking for reasons to buy one:
A settled team
Decent coach (albeit, he's still new to the job)
A very committed Chairman (& management team)
Spread payment on season ticket
Decent new signings (& contract extensions)
Some excellent local youngsters coming through
And finally, the helter-skelter that is Wakefield Trinity, it's in your blood and there is no point in fighting it !
