I truly believe we are missing Morrison this year. Last year we were a team put together last minute and on a shoestring. The majority of players we had with any experience had been picked over during the administration period and we looked to Morrison to lead us through what was going to be a difficult season. He held his hand up and did an admirable job, played the full 80 minutes and kept the team spirit up amongst the youngsters. This is what I expect from a captain. At the moment it's hard to tell who is captain on the field.

Personally feel that Rinaldi was also a big loss. Always lead from the front.

Interesting to see Steve Southern driving over the Pennines yesterday with Tim Smith, Dean Collis, Ben Cockayne & James Davey ... they made the effort to go and support the team, when they could have stayed at home and had a day off.

... pity more of our supporters didn't do the same!

It was a pretty poor travelling support, but understandable; I guess if there was a game to miss over the busy Easter programme, Wigan was it.

Easter Sunday + expense + poor weather + last two performances = not on your nelly!

Sorry Catwoman but expense plays a big part nowadays...especially the cost of fuel on top of match prices. As a family we have chosen to go to Leeds fri night and support the team, not going to Wigan had nothing to do with not showing our support.

Whatever his problems are he needs to show us more than a few decent hits in the collision to keep the likes of Mariano out.

As I said a couple of weeks ago - met him just after training and he was battered and bruised, carrying two head injuries, a busted finger and a nasty calf injury that meant he had trouble walking.

I'm sure there's nothing sinister going on.

I saw the interview with R.A. and his comments about Steve Southern were very interesting. He seems to acknowledge that there was a fitness issue with Southern and that its been worked on for the last 4 weeks whilst he's been recovering from a calf injury. He more or less stated that Southern will be like a new signing with his much improved fitness levels and has had almost a mini pre-season.

Hopefully Southern will now be used in the second row position within the 17 along with Kirmond and Lauititi against Warrington. Playing him at Prop made him ineffective I think.

I'm sure playing him at prop probably did cause him to be ineffective. That said, he's no line buster as a second row forward either, although if he does get full fitness and demostrates his reputation as a tackling machine then there is a place for him. He is probably the man to 'get in the oppositions faces' and lead by example. That is something we've been lacking this season.

I didn't take that as being unfit, just that he has fittness issues in relation to injuries.
