would love tony martin to stay on, worth it as he's a good back up kicker and his experience does show

Hes kicked nearly 30 goals, when he was moved to stand off, and he's also a centre, which if Atkins does go, Martin could easily replace him. And if i'm not mistaken ( correct me if i am ) isn't he involved with the the under 18's team? i would personally try and keep hold of Tony.

Yes he has been this season. Didn't Morrison say he was going to coach them next year though? Does that mean that Martin won't be, or was that decided before his move to Cas fell through?

I think Tony would be worth keeping.

Obviously coaches would have to be comfortable that he is worth another season and not slowing down too much etc.

How he has managed to stay at Leeds all this time with his injury record season after season is beyond me.

think evans staying will have something to do with them making a mess of signing drew and martin. i think there maybe some sort of a deal done where martin stays at wakey and evans stays at cas and someone finishes up paying a bit extra.

yes I thought that when just heard news re Evans staying at Cas when I thought he had already signed for us, deals are all in reverse now it seems !

Think we need to be looking for better quality than Martin, having left Atkins go. He's a decent player, doesn't make too many errors, but is not a left centre game breaker; while Atkins has flattered to decieve he was still a quality strike player, Martin is just another James Evans.

I have never liked the guy to be honest, but he has all the attributes to be a force and fits the bill for a Wakey/John Kear "project"
ie done reasonably well early on in there career, then gone off the boil and is probably looking at one last shot in Super League ala Bibey, Moore, Wilkes etc
Not sure how much money he is on, and although he has played a few times for Wigan this year he is far from a regular and you would of thought could well be available.
Like i say, never really liked him (not sure if this is down to there kid tho??) and always thought he looked decent as he was playing in a good Bradford side but he just seems like the kind who JK could do something with.

As far as the salary cap goes if atkins was to come to wire then it would be a direct replacement for martin gleeson who left earlier on in the season, he would have freed up a big amount of the salary cap, we did not replace him hence why he brought in brian carney as cover , but he will be leaving at the end of the season and also paul johnson is going , therefore the atkins transfer does seem likely , also to whoever said before they wouldnt mind grix or harrison , there is no way we would let go of harrison as he looks a great prospect however , surely either simon grix or chris bridge would be part of this deal as both are half backs who have been playing centre all season and with at least one halfback coming in with myler then one of them would be leaving imo :/
