I am a massive fan of Tom, I have watched Tom in detail when he takes the ball in or on a short run, for me, he has not quite learnt to go down/fall on his own body, he wrestles, pulls & puts his own weight + tackles through his own leg & knees.
I have watched Makinson of Saints, he knows when to go to ground, how to go to ground protecting himself & play the ball quickly !
Of course, this is not every occasion but in general terms !
Tom is a class act, I now fear for him on his career, I do hope he learns to protect himself better knowing all opponents will try to
take him out ?
We now have wigan & Catalan where it's a regular occurrence !

I honestly see Lyne as the ultimate professional.

He’s not what you would call naturally talented or gifted with special ability. That said he’s obviously worked very hard off the pitch to make up for that. He’s always maintained good shape but he’s incredibly consistent and does a lot of the basics very well. His yard gains are very good even after contact, his defence is of a high standard too. He deserves every call up he gets imo with his work rate and his efforts never faulted.

I have no doubts Lyne will do a good job of selected.

As did every player on our side as none of them complained.

100% agree he really has worked hard.he for me should be in the squad he with king and maybe farnworth (not seen a great deal of him)are best english centres out there altough many will disagree with me and say gildart

Gildart and Macgillvray in the last England games were dominated by their opposite numbers. Gildart in particular was Leaking yards in contact and out of position leading to a number of try’s.

I personally don’t rate a Gildart. Not saying he’s a bad player but I don’t think he’s as good as people make out from the limited times I’ve seen him.

Lyne has a real shot at the shirt. Wane was clearly impressed by him too.

Can you believe Lyne is at 195 games and will be coming up to his 200th game for trinity at only 28 years old.

The guy has got a good 4 years or so ahead of him imo too. Could easily reach the 300 game mark for apps. I wonder what position that would put him in all time trinity appearances?

Who knew that skinny winger we brought to the club 9 years ago would turn into a such an important player for us. Who ever it was brought him over that was some signing. Agar was it?

from what I saw and from the angle I had of it and I’ve seen it again on tv there’s nothing in it for me. He’s took it in wriggling in the tackle and they have got him down anyway they could, personally I think he runs far too much ball in anyway when he should be there for the glory. I’m not with you at all on the point that players deliberately go out to injure people, it’s not something I hear players say or ex players say but it’s opinions and we differ on this

I understand things are all opinions, I have mine, I have good eye sight and I haven’t been in the shower for two years having a bad dream.
TJ was 10/15 yards from the touch line, his team mates were on the open side so they wouldn’t see it PT.
If you don’t think some players have ever tried to injure or take someone out of the game then either you haven’t read many RL books or watched it differently. I think the 60s expression for removing someone was “crash tackle” and that’s 50 plus years ago.

Is that the only positive you can come up with for Chester being the coach. The last player to admit trying to injure a player was a tackle in an international against Chase when he played for England.

Yes and the tackle that Liam Marshall did on Jay pitts in the first couple of minutes when he broke through Marshall yanked pitts leg up into an awkward position which caused and injury to pitts fair enough he stayed on the pitch but again could have been so much worse

Good news especially considering the news about Manfredi. Don't think the pair of them have a decent knee between them. Hope he has better luck and goes on to fulfil his potential.

Tough on Manfredi who I've always rated right up there with TJ.

Just re-watched on Trinity TV, there's nothing wrong what so ever with the tackle on Tom. 55 minutes in, he just lands awkwardly in the tackle by the looks of it.

I’ve rewatched it too and Mopsey is right he just landed awkwardly. No one touched his leg. Unfortunately he fell backwards and his weight fell on his knee. With him falling awkwardly he kind of pulled the two defenders with him to add extra weight. Just really unfortunate. Tommy Leuluai went to check on him too.

I thought Luluia did ever so slightly but nothing malicious, I think it's one of those that looks bad in a split second at a match when you are all emotional. The amount of things I think I've seen at a game that looks nothing like on TV later is a lot.
