All I know is that it consisted of josh vievers, stu howarth and ben gledhill.

Limited capacity for today's game. The stand you've shown wasn't open. Today was reduced to 5k. It was basically a requirement to get the health & safety certificate.

For the game itself, it was our 1st team bar 2 or 3 players against a patched up Leigh team and I'm not exaggerating to say that that scoreline flattered us (Salford). Was a woeful way to open the stadium.

Maybe they charged more than a tenner to get in.

At least they've got their new stadium sorted hopefully in 18 - 24 months time we will be playing our first game at Newmarket until then we can't really comment on other clubs

I think the point is, it seems they have made a few mistakes and had problems with their new stadium we hope Wakefield dont make the same mistakes and have the same problems..

I can understand why people would wait until the razzmattaz of the first proper fixture. It's like finding your Christmas presents early. You feel like you want to know, but it just takes the shine off the big day .

Well I hope they get a full house for their first league fixture and everything goes well for them this year (except against us) Salford fans arent a bad bunch and have suffered in a similar way to us other the years!

Exactly. It shows what a mockery the licensing system really is.

Winning games, having a good youth set up, good attendance etc etc really do count for nothing these days.

Leigh actually had more players missing than Salford who were at full strength barring 2 or 3. Leigh also don't officially have a coach yet. Still wouldn't read too much into the result though these things can happen in pre season and even in cup games. Sounds like Leigh were very clinical

you need to read the twitter page on the reds own website when the match was being played to get an understanding of the frustrations the fans have and the desperation from the club man doing the report to try and drum up support

Yeah but to be fair that squad hardly inspires a great deal of confidence, I wouldn't swap it with ours and we've only had the majority of our squad less than 6 months.

To be fair it was pre-season. Friendlies are hard to call with player's motivation and fitness under question.

Whilst the result maybe a little bit of a surprise Leigh are no mugs and would give a reasonable challenge to many non-top 4/5 Super League clubs including ourselves.

Remember Salford did the double over us last year, although on paper we have improved from then.

The real test is when it matters. A surprise result maybe but let us not draw conclusions just yet.

I don't see a good year ahead for Salford, either on or off the pitch.

Rugby league players should=self motivation irrespective of who the opposition are basically they should all want to win every game

2800 is a decent gate for a friendly game the result means nothing cant see what all the fuss is about the players blow off the cobwebs with no injuries hopefully end of
Lets not forget our new 1st team recently got blown away by a Leeds reserve team it means nothing come the start of the season.
at least Salford have a stadium as do Leigh
