The swearing and generally abusive language by a group of gents in the stand (as commented on by Jamie Bloem) that was audible on the radio Leeds commentary was embarrassing.

Didn’t hear that guy but what did make me laugh is they insistence of a couple of young teenage Trinity fans of shouting ‘f*ckin’ inbred’ at every Cas player and supporter when neither of them looked like the came from a varied gene pool.

Atmosphere was awful yesterday, when it wasn’t deathly silent it was littered with foul mouthed abuse.

I think the lack of atmosphere was down to the standard of the game. Not a great deal to get excited about for either side except of course for the cas fans in the last few minutes.

There were a couple of e-mails read out on radio Leeds from people complaining about the foul language that can be heard during the radio commentaries that come from Bell Vue.

I have to say I've heard it myself both while sitting in the stand and whilst listing on the radio and it is embarrassing.

The stewards in the East stand were quick to jump on a little six-year-old boy who stood on the steps near the gate so he could see the game but seem very slow when it comes to foul mouthed yobs yelling obscenities at the top of her voice.

Time for a little zero tolerance I believe.

Reading some bad comments on here but where i was stood in the second half at the bottom of the open side bit with about 10 over Cas fans in second half we had a good crack with the Wakie fans yes there was calling of inbreds but nothing to bad just banter.

Im afraid the name of th thread is wrong! The guy down the side had an accomplice, helped keep the questioning of the refs parentage constant. Not much need in half of it to be honest.

Easier to tell kids off, isn't it. Having not had that problem (I must sit or stand in areas where people have manners of a vocabulary of more than 4 words), what do stewards actually do what you tell them something? I can understand the frustration, you need someone to have a word, but you risk missing parts of the action trying to get the head steward or whatever to sort it out.

Makes the whole 'respect' thing, sadly, a waste of time.

Alcohol sales during the match doesn't help, but the fundamental issue of the problem is that a small minority of people are starting to believe that the only reason of attending a Rugby League match is abusing people. These are the same types of people who make town centres a no go area for older people when its dark.

Rugby League needs to have a serious look at its pillock problem. Its not ok for each club to say that its just the oppposing fans, or when a certain team come into town. We need to look at making BV a welcoming ground for families, and I as a man in my midthirties am not keen on attending when there is an atmosphere like that, let alone bring my family along. I would rather shelter them from that side of life.

Wakey could become a leader in this and that would surely be beneficial in our aim of getting the next franchise. The RFL will be looking at the main categories, but will also take into account any further initiatives that benefit the watching of Rugby League at a ground.

It would certainly give the club an excuse as to why their crowds are so poor.

The only way you will get a decent level of stewarding is if they get proper training, a decent wage and a bit of respect sadly they get none of that and who is gonna risk getting a 'kicking' on minimum wage?

Perfectly true and it dosn't end there. Any action they take could end up in court and more than likely the scumbag will have a solicitor paid for by the state and the steward will be made to look like the one who is in the wrong.

The problem is Belle Vue. Whatever we do inside the ground all the approaches to it are grim and it sets the tone for the match day experience. People can move freely around and therefore it is difficult to police. Compare it to the match day experience at modern grounds like Wigan,Hull etc were the supporters are segragated and you can create areas for children and families.

Hopefully we will be out of there in a season or maybe two seasons. However if it was up to me I would be out of there at the end of this season and spend the intrim period on the road at other grounds.

Sadly if something isn’t done soon Rugby league will go the way of Football, we must not for one minute think that this is a problem that only exists at Wakefield.

Unfortunately this is a super league wide problem for only last week whilst at Saints I was stood in front of a young lady, (term used loosely) who was F-ing and Blinding throughout the entire game questioning Wakefield and at times Saints parentage, sorry I thought for a moment that the undisclosed parentage of the referee went without out saying.

This I feel the Rugby League needs to bring to a halt before it is given the chance to develop any further.

And I’m sure if you ask any true Rugby League fan regardless of allegiance they will tell you it happens at every club including their own.

Yeah that was him, i know it sounds contradictory to my complaint with him, but at full time I was nearly ready to punch him. (I restrained myself so I don't class myself as another hooligan lol)

That will have been the one Radio Leeds could have heard, if they were on the "construction" that sits behind the west terrace. He really did my head in and i'm sure i wouldn't have left the match half as annoyed at the defeat had he not been there. If I had been a parent and my kid was nearby, we would have probably ended up havin a serious argument - absolutelt no need for at least 40mins of constant abuse at the top of his voice.

I think that a zero tolerance would be a step too far, everyone get annoyed and passionate at times, and i have been known to vent my opinion in a rather crass way occasionally, when a certain event has happened, and i think it should only be consistent offenders who should be escorted out.
