From what I have seen of him, he looks a decent player and I am supprised cas are not holding on to him (if true).

As far as his build is concerned he looks like a prop should look.

It must be a sign of money troubles. What with the rumour of Shenton to Leeds for 200K sounds like Cas need the money fast. Maybe some of the sponsorship money has gone missing again.

exactly, we have plenty of good young lads / project players.

if it were upto me, id be looking to bring in someone, preferably english, who is established and who will bring real quality to the side. somebody who has the qualities and the status which demands the young lads look up to and can learn off.

Ryan will sign a new deal at Cas but it will be just a bit time sorting his contract out even though i still not sure he will make the grade.

I cannot believe they are willing to offer him a new contract when you are not sure if he will make the grade.

Still, if he goes I'm sure Cas will replace him with an Academy player.

i am sure ryan will become a very competent prop for cas he is still very young in terms of props and cas should keep him. he will only sign if he is offered better money or in the end feels he will outlast TM at the club and he will have a future with Cas.

to respond to your dig i was informed by a wakey employee wakey were running with a squad of 28 next seaosn and as many as 10 of that will be employed form the academy!

More than just 2 Cas players have been offered crap deals and they are not happy.

No suprise really with them having trouble paying some of there players. And they say it's us with the money trouble

So why have some of your first team players had problems been paid? Then offering new deals to players but on less money... Sounds to me like you are trying to cover it up pal.

wainny had this problem last year - terry wanted him to stay but because our at times inept board have a nack of over spending on average aussies we are left with little left in the coffers for our squad players and they are treated poorly. this happens when you do not spend to the full cap - the phase penny wise pound foolish springs to mind.

sometimes a player is offered less money as they were on more money than they should have been (deals negotiated by others no longer at the club) or may be because they are getting older and no longer commmand the money they once did or maybe TM doesn't want them at the club unless they get them very cheap!

The deal that was put on the table was shocking and that has come from a reliable person.

the deal for boyle? if so i know exactly how bad it was. and i would not expect ryan to stay he has responsabilities and to me it would make me think i was bette roff elsewhere as i am obviously not appreciated by TM but that said ryan loves cas and wants to stay - tough call for the kid.

The most recent accounts for both clubs ,indicate they are both stable.

Not only him the same can be said about a few other players. But I will not mention names on here as it's not fair.

But it's safe to say Cas are looking to save a lot of money by offering players less money.

And yet it's Wakey who have money problems who are getting players who will command quite high wages

cutting corners to bring in new faces on silly money also for some reason it's how cas do business - it's not the way i woudl do it!

i know chris feather is having trouble negotiating a contract - but maybe it's just cas starting out low in stead of just throwing money at players un necessarily. answer this if a player is not wanted elsewhere why offe rhim more than you have to?
