And a cracking job they're doing, I had us down as certainties for the drop with London, now I feel we'll at least ruffle a load of feathers, makes me wanna book Perpignan.

| Looks a very good signing on paper and I think he could do very well for us but we need to give him a chance and not ge on his back early if he doesn't rip it up from the off.
That said though it would be great to see him out play our former number 7 and Rangi Chase in the opening game.

| The highlight reel obviously flatters to deceive, but he looks ready to take the line on and is apparently a self-made good defender; two areas in which Tim Smith was weak. That said, he doesn't appear to have the sublime cut-out pass that Smith used to carve open defences when the mood took him. Overall, probably a more robust player than Smith too, who didn't take a shot especially well - he also looks quicker.
Looks to me like a signing with all the potential to deliver - we need to give him time to settle in and avoid the boo boy reaction that imports often get if they don't smash it from day 1.

Couple of points :
Cut out pass. I don't know if you saw the ball he threw to the Samoan Prop Suia Matangi to put him under the post un opposed from dummy when the Kiwi Defence was well set on their Try line ?
That for mine was the cut out pass of the World cup and sat comfortably alongside Tomkins Ball to Hall for the first England Try in the opener.
Dean Whares reverse Pass from outside the field of play a week couple of weeks later trumped those two contenders by some distance to be fair.
The highlights stuff for Godinet on youtube is dated and all of it seems to be from the New South Wales cup....games in which the TV Cameras are there fortnightly at best.
You really don't get a flattering look at Godinet from all the ones I've seen on Youtube.
Most of what he does is consistent right throughout a match provided his forwards are getting over the advantage line.
How Good are Wakefields Go forward men by the way ? I have to admit to knowing very little of the club.

One thing how good is he to commanding positional play directing players has got the confidence to tell his players what he wants them to do and where to put them selves, this is what our club needs a leader on the field to direct his commands, if we get this I sure we are going to upset a few clubs again thinking that we are easy meat

Pita is a traditional halfback , so he takes on the line , plays at the line , brings people to the line.
He plays the tradition pivot link Half back role. As Such his style is to do the directing (Pita is the on field director of that Vulcans team....that side struggles without him they got behind the eight ball while Pita was in the top side and crashed way down the ladder , they made the lower eight when he returned ).
Forwards who can play direct and run hard are Pita's bread and butter ( you saw that when the Samoan team woke up against the kiwis for twenty minutes the style of Rugby league is direct and fast before going wide ).
That was what happened in our NRL campaign this year Pita impact Bench Hooker / Johnson Half back. Those two had an initial honeymoon period where Pita was the surprise Xfactor player that caught a lot of NRL teams out when the Tempo changed up a couple of gears once he hit the field and he switched the team to a direct Game.
In those debut 2013 Games by Pita, other players would start scoring Try's and catch up , people were calling for him to get more on field time or be given a go in the no7 and to Shift Johnson to Stand off.
Pita took more and more of a lead from the bench , the Warriors were tearing themselves apart as far as their Campaign and relations with Matt Elliot were going at the time.
Godinet and Johnson didn't pair up well when Godinet was dummy half due to both calling and a complete clash of Styles ( Johnson drifts side ways ).
Those differing Styles compliment each other well for all the good sides , you're never going to find out if you drop one guy after two games where their communication is having some glitches.
It is no shock to us Warrior fans that Pita is gone. He is the player that Rugby League needs to find out what's written in his stars....the bloke has been very very good in a reserve grade comp which means nothing at the end of the day.
He has gone great guns , played his best football when facing quality teams at that higher level he's thrived.
his story in the NRL is a Footballers tragedy in a way , wrong club to try to launch your career from.

| I always want a half back to take on the line.
Ben Jeffries did it when he was paired with Brough but when Brough left, he went back to passing it on.
If what you say is right MtSmart, looking forward to Pita being a nuggety take em on scrum half.

Funny you should ask....before this came along I'd talked to the Wife about a window this coming year mid June through to mid July....we had penciled in a Visit to the U.K. which includes some ESL Games, If Pita is playing , we will have a look.

| Lets not build him up to be the next Messiah.... and him fall short of such lofty expectations, lets hope he is what he appears to be, a half that is not at the top level who has played a fair few games in the NRL... and has so fair failed to hold a starting posistion.
Which is no bad thing as the majority of aussies that are in Super League also couldnt command a starting spot.

OFF TO UK: Hooker Pita Godinet has left the Warriors and signed to Super League club Wakefield Trinity.
League
Hooker Pita Godinet has left the Warriors and signed to Super League club Wakefield Trinity.
The 25-year-old, who played for Samoa at the World Cup and appeared for the Warriors on 10 occasions last season, has been given a release from the club.
All of Godinet's games for the Warriors this year came in the first half of the season and he spent the back end of the campaign languishing in the reserve grade Auckland Vulcans side.
Wakefield coach Richard Agar, who coached France at the World Cup, said he intends to use the 25-year-old at either hooker or in the halves.
"He is a skilful player and I think he will make a big impact. He will also give us cover at six or nine," Agar said.
"Half-backs are at a premium and it is a difficult time of the season to try and sign new players so I am delighted we have signed him and I certainly think he will add something to our squad."
Agar said the club had been trying to sign Godinet for some time.
"Our first enquiry was rebuffed but I think Pita realised that it would be a tremendous opportunity to play in Super League and become an important player for us."
The Warriors had an option on Godinet's contract for next season and back in June Warriors coach Matt Elliott told Fairfax Media that they would be taking it up for 2014.
"All of the options that we're going to take up have been taken up. Pita is here next year," Elliott said at the time.
However, the change of plan may have been caused by the club's change of heart over Nathan Friend.
The Warriors initially didn't take up their option on the veteran hooker and it looked like he was going to move on, but just before the end of the season they offered him a new deal.
With Friend, Thomas Leuluai and the highly promising Siliva Havili all potentially wearing the No 9 jersey at the club next season, it's unlikely Godinet would have got much game time and he had also stated to Fairfax Media this year that he was willing to move away from Auckland to play first grade footy.
