| Quote ="altofts wildcat"A reliable source who has not let me down in the past informs me of the below, I will admit that i do not understand the why's or hows and it doesn't really make sense but here goes:
The Ellis interest is very real and and offer is a long way down the line however there are some sticking points.
The council load repayments are a lot higher than anticipated by Ellis and he struggles to see how the club would afford them in the Championship without them being paid by directors/owners. Taking on the debt isn't an issue in itself but paying for it if we go down is.
The new stand is set up to run under a separate company to the actual club, a bit like a Stadium Management Company. Carter is wanting to remain in control of this and charge to club itself rent to be able to use it. Now I always understood that the club owned the land and everything on top of the land so I am not sure how it works or even if it is true but I do trust my source.
The final sticking point is Directors Loans. The small shareholders are happy to sell without recuperating their money however Carter wants his loans paying back in full despite what he has said in the past.'" makes me laugh how the current bod want to charge trinity for using their own stand after contributing nothing towards it. Just go now you've done enough damage and if this is the case you are motivated by pure greed or someone making a success of the club, something which you haven't

I think I've asked this before but
1) when did you previously 'have the club'
2) what makes you think new guy is going to do what you want?

Being charged to use the stand goes against the whole point of it being built. Carter hasn't paid for it so should not be due any renumeration from it. If this is true and he does not relent then he's as good as lost his money anyway. Perhaps he's trying it on to see what he can get. On those terms I can understand the sticking points.

Surely Carter wouldn't quit because he could see that the Council Loan would potentially make the Club insolvent? Maybe it's just getting too hard? And I find it hard to understand how the East Stand could be under a different Title (and ownership) to the Club unless it's in a Leasehold Structure and Mr Carter et al owns that Leasehold Interest? They don't own the East Stand? The City effectively owns the stand, right? Now I'm confused, concerned, and a bit disappointed if I am honest. And MC wanting his Loan back after the bluster telling us all he wasn't bothered about them? I can only assume it's posturing as part of a deal negotiation. If it's all true of course - which it might not be! I guess we will find out in the next few days.

Mainly because as you say you don't know it's true.
The only source is from people who admit to being Carter haters.

I'm not in the know at all on this, but there is no way that the £8.5m that was provided to build the stand and other upgrades would have been handed to Michael Carter and John Minards for their own personal gains. I could understand it going into a community group set up separate from the club which the aforementioned people may be heading up currently, but again not for their own personal gain. I think your reliable source might know something but not the actual truth.

That is not what I am saying. What I have been told is that the management of the Ground has been moved to an SMC which is what Carter wants to remain involved with a thus charge the club a rent.

Which again wasn't what was sold to us. It was to be a WT asset and they were to benefit from renting it out.
The original deal at NM was the ground would be leased to a Trust on peppercorn rent with Trinity paying that organisation as anchor tenants.
This situation seems to be a bit of a power play and seems way off in my opinion, and while there seems to be a growing number who dislike Carter, this would push the balance to most of the support base, again if true.

Reading this has made me feel sick. I’ve always stood by MC and JM, built this is true regarding the new stand, then I feel that I’ve been made a fool of. I’ve recently bought into the share scheme believing I was helping to finance the future of the club, this apparently underhanded business of the new stand is bordering on skulduggery, and if it turns out to be true, then I really will be re considering my loyalty to this club/management. I’m paying into the commit 6, and at this moment I’m convinced I should end my payments. Any money I pay regarding Trinity, I want it to go to Trinity, not some faceless Stadium Management set up. If the current management does not come clean on this issue in the very near future, then I will not be investing any more monies into the club, Gutted

Even Rodders wouldn't do that - mind he has "saved the club" on numerous occasions.

Just hold that thought though Dunk.
I share your feelings but it just doesn't add up. Even if they wanted to rip off the club, they couldn't do it this way.

No I don’t think they could either.
The new stand surely belongs to the club not a couple of individuals?
All speculation so far from somebody who knows somebody….

| Valuable assets are often separated from main company for protection purposes - no reason to have different owners though and if MC is stepping down absolutely no reason he would require ownership over the stadium. Hope it gets sorted and truth comes out soon enough

| What amazes me is, all these people who are on facebook, twitter, on here seemingly 24/7, when do they actually do any work?! I get on here on my breaks and at lunchtime, and occasionally on a weekend.......haven't people got anything better to do than live on social media???! Truly a lot of sad individuals who possibly need something else in their lives.......

We are a passionate lot, and this is potentially a very important thread to do with the short and long term future of the club.
For the record, I'm currently on my break.
I'll be honest, I usually leave myself logged in, via my phone. I know, I shouldn't

Maybe you just don't understand how they do it.

| A quick search on companies house shows that currently MC & JM are directors in one registered company only and that is "Spirit of 1873 LTD" no other company, so if there is a so called management company looking after the stand, its either listed as a charity or neither of these 2 guys are on the BOD of it.
