Maybe going down the good squad depth route, a good first 17 and another 10 good players below them. The team then isn't noticeably weaker when a few are injured.

I don't like the idea of Hampshire at FB. Not giving the right message to Jowitt and Hooley.
I don't like the idea of signing Broughy but the club will get my support if he does join us.

Hope this is all speculation leave him where he is. Doesn't fit wakey at all we don't need mavericks. He's had two opportunities at wakey and thrown both back in our faces. One as a youth the other when he went to hudds just because they paid his debts off with hard cash. Can you imagine him screaming and paddying at Miller, Hampshire etc if they do something he doesn't like? This is nothing but a nostalgia move let him go back "home" to dewsbury.

I was happy when he moved here the first time and he was a big reason why we finished 5th in 2009. Imo his positives at that times far outweighed his angry man maverick persona and as a club, we were in a different position to what we are now, so it was worth any perceived risk.

If I remember right a few weren't keen because he didn't want to leave Cas and come to us but they couldn't afford him, something along those lines anyway.

It'll be interesting to hear what both Brough and CC have to say about the move, Brough's motivations and reasons especially.

ATEOTD we've got to back CC because he's hardly put a foot wrong since he's arrived but it's about the first call he's made that I have any real concerns about.

Assuming it's right, it means that we've lost; Grix, Finn, & Baldwinson, but have gained Brough, Reynolds, King, & Kopczak.

I think we have to agree that Brough is marmite. For every person that doesn't like him, you'll find one that does.
Personally, I still rate him over Finn, who we were all happy to see at the start of last season and when he's on his game, he is still better than what we have. The key will be whether Chester & co can keep him on his game often enough.

He's had major issues last season with on field discipline at Shudds and spent as much time watching from the stands as playing and no side wants that.

I think that John Kear once said that you cant have too many pivots and it's safe to say that we have plenty.

Have we ever had the positive side of a deal with Shudds? They take our guys on the up, we relieve them of ballast.

Kirmond, Raleigh, Wood x2, Grix, Huby were/have been all good signings for us from them.

The team is a lot stronger collectively as a group and quality to when Brough was here last time and also there's not a clash of personalities with Brad Drew.

I'm only a supporter of the club and its the club discretion who they think they should sign, I thought he had his chance but here goes this could be the start of a campaign to really ruffle some feathers

Should this be true then I hope CC and MC have read the riot act to Broughie. Whilst I think the man has been the most "Complete" rugby league player over the last twelve or so years , and I've looked forward to the day when we saw him in a Trinity jersey once again, I just hope that the other players accept him. No matter whether you like the guy or not who can deny that his skills would be an asset to the club?

I’ll happily deny it. The bloke is way past his best and in my opinion offers less overall than we are losing by shipping Grix out and moving Hampshire out of the halves where he has been very good to fullback where he isn’t as good. And thats without his attitude problem.

Still all about opinions i guess.
