| I still find it amazing that many think N M will be the answer to the club's problems, it will not.
N M was never the right location for me and in desperation and years of let downs I can understand why it's become so important.
A new stadium indeed a community stadium should be at the heart of the community not 2/3 bus rides away.
B V should be looked at favourably if NM the only option. I would not expect any help from the council, they missed a massive opportunity when they did not turn the pugneys in to a sporting village. Only time will tell but I don't expect to see a community stadium at the N M site or within Wakefield in a long long time.

| In 21st century Wakefield I don't see why being a couple of miles away from the city centre matters.
It's not like people live in the city centre any more.
You can easily put direct buses on if there is a need but as long as their is plenty of parking it'll be fine.
Of course it matters most which stadium is possible but if it was a straight shoot out between NM and BV I'd pick NM.

| The supporters prospective will probably be N M but to attract the public to a shiny new stadium I don't honestly believe N M to be the answer. A winning side will always see an increase in support and I expect Trinity to be in a much stronger position in the coming seasons but to expect to flood N M with a new breed of supporters I don't see happening. From a clubs prospective I would have thought If it's obtainable N M will be the end product but it's not for me.

| Following this with intrest as a Salford fan it reminds me of where we were around about 2009/10 when the new community stadium at Barton was going to be the answer to everything.
Obviously it didn't work out that way if you get the stadium built then the way you manage the move will be crucial to it being a success.
If you are tenants to a management company then expect to be messed about and at times you'll feel let down and not part of any decisions.
It's not just Salford Sale Sharks fans also seem to have grievances regular with the Stadium.
Hope this is a worse case scenario and if you do move I hope like Leigh who after early problems at the sports village they now seem to be better treated.

| Despite the lack of progress in building industrial units at Newmarket, in the "Express" there is news of another industrial park which will "create 2000 jobs" plus, Primark and M & S committing to the 5 towns development at Glasshoughton.
I realise that TRB and Co are working hard for no reward but, it seems clear that Yorkcourt (or whoever) are not playing the game.
Equally, if there is a "stagnant site" on one side of the City, why do we need an additional industrial park just a few miles away, when there is supposed to be little demand for units due to the "downturn in the economy ?

Because it isn't going to be built in the next 12 months. Businesses are looking further ahead. The plan is for the next 5 - 10 years and in that time the economy can change - trouble is it change either way! Firms could well not depend on an improving economy but just that locating there will allow them to be more efficient/profitable.

| Newmarket ain't going to happen, that much is obvious. Remember taking this to court doesn't mean we get a stadium, it just means that the protagonists don't get as rich IF we win. And if we were successful Yorkcourt would highly likely just build up to the limit and walk away as the stadium build would not make it profitable enough for them. They never had any intention of building a atadium there and i would guess our only hope is sone kind of deal involving buying back Belle Vue and staged funding of it's development as Yorkcourt develop Newmarket for something that makes them money. I fear it's that option that or nothing.

| Buying back Belle Vue and a staged upgrading has always been the best option. If the Newmarket debacle shames Yorkcourt , Box , et a inl to enabling the club to do that this whole sorry NM saga might have been worthwhile

| I agree. If Newmarket was going to happen it would have started by now. The council need taking to court for gross negligence or something along those lines. Box and cooper need outing for the corrupt and bias cretins they are. Feel sorry for the hard work people such as phil and Jonathan have put in but for me they now need to stop playing nicely nicely and take the tough stance and tell yorkcourt and the council that action is being taken and issue them with proceedings to take them to court. It's clear they don't want to fulfil on their promise, it's my view that this whole situation has been a joint venture by two out of the three parties to get the industrial units built without ever even considering building a stadium laughing his 'box' off at our failure to once again get a new ground whilst his beloved Cas plod along merrily in to their new ground in a couple of years or so.

| You're in the best position to know phil but obviously without facts it all looks painstakingly long and tedious. I just can't see cllr Box playing ball. How long do you (not I - all I did was sign a petition and turn up at the town hall) stay patient for. You've put in a hell of a lot of man hours so if it's frustrating for us I can't imagine what it's like for you! Even if (and I think it's a big if) it does happen I still think box needs bringing to justice and removing from his position.

There has been a change in attitude in certain quarters. I would hope it is not too much longer before news can be released but don't wish to tie down a timescale as they inevitably fail!

| The problem with taking the council or Yorkcourt down the legal route is one of finance, win lose or draw somebody has to pay and even if you win there is no guarantee the judge will rule in your favour when it comes to costs, WTW have no money so ultimately the financial responsibility will come down to Mr Carter personally, so it's understandable his reluctance not to pursue this what could turn out to be a very expensive exercise just to prove the wrong doings of those other parties especially has it won't guarantee a new ground.

By your own admittance you are asking fans to be patient far more than can be reasonably expected of them, if we believe what we're expected to believe then surely you've been in meaningful discussions for years now, so what's suddenly changed?

Just as a matter of interest assuming I'm allowed to ask the question, which other parties have had a change in attitude, because as far as I'm concerned unless that change of attitude is from those quarters what are withholding the finances back and are just paying lip service to our problem then we are still in a stalemate. Another concern for me is the longer this debacle plays out then it lessens the chances of us staying in our proper home or lengthens the progress regarding a new home in Wakefield, just to sum it all up, there's an old saying which goes along the lines of, if I told you all we know you'd know as much as we do, which of course would only apply if you knew nothing

I can't tell you how frustrating it can be not telling all - I'd love to and I can't wait for the day. In the meantime, there is change where it needs to be. That's all for now. Sorry.

| I'm with you all the way with this one TRB and it's good to hear there's some movement.
I don't want to muddy the waters or throw a spanner in the works but is there any mileage in the new development to the east of the city with, say, Yorkcourt providing funds. Not too far from Belle Vue and could solve parking problems. Would allow them to use the whole of their land. Trouble is it kicks the whole thing way down the road again and all sorts could go wrong in the meantime. On second thoughts, scrap the idea and keep plugging away.

| Just as a point of interest, is Heath Common literally common land? If so who owns it? I believe the Common was actually Trinity's home prior to Belle Vue. It would be a wonderful venue for a stadium. What about that large expanse of flat land opposite the road that branches off to Streethouse. just a thought!

The same people who own the gym - the last time I looked, the whole site was up for about a million quid, but that was last year, when the gym was still a going concern; don't know what the current status is.
