There are still some team that have to play round 2 as last weekends games were postponed and there is a likelihood that some of them will be missed tomorrow as the pitches I've seen today have been absolutely waterlogged.

Not sure on "Common Sense" as rarely when one expects common sense to prevail that it ever does

So this is the advice given;

"There is no dispensation for the BARLA cup I'm afraid, so you will need to use your postponement for the first fixture.

If you get through to the next round and decide to play in the BARLA cup instead of your league match, then you will need to forfeit your league fixture 18-0."

Crigglestone have found themselves in this conflict with BARLA since competition came in effect. Its silly boys and girls in cheap suits trying to be top dog YJL v BARLA v ( WAKEFIELD RL ) in criggs case v RFL . with everyone forgetting the kid's.

IMHO the whole junior game in the country GBR should be governed by 1 body with 1 set of rules so when a team from Dewsbury plays one from Wakefield the referee is sure of the rules and the players and coaches know how to play to them,

we are yet again sending fear and threatening teams for achieving something. Shame on the person who as spoken to Oulton in this manner.

It's an absolute joke isn't it? Daft old blokes in the back rooms of the favoured few clubs, making decisions that have everything to do with their own agendas and nothing at all to do with getting kids out on the park enjoying themselves.

The junior game continues to thrive *despite* the best efforts of the people in charge.

I have heard this evening that The RFL have told YJARL that they are to allow teams to play BARLA cup games without any penalty, so this information might not be current any longer

Hope you're right. Perhaps they could also see their way clear to publishing the final league tables and the first league fixture with a week and a half to go, see NWC details have been up since jan!

Looking at the fixtures seems common sense has prevailed.

Your not kidding about the group. I've seen a lot of junior rugby over the years and I don't think I've ever seen so many good teams in one age group.

Well, it's not worked out for us as our proposed league opponents aren't in the cup. Age group Secretary tried to pair us with stanningley but since they've been knocked out we've no choice but to use our only postponement. Nice one YJARL.

Well acording to YJRL onTwitter last night - if you're still in the cup & you lose this weekend then you have to use your postponement , but if you win then you'll have to use it in the next round !

We've got to use it this coming weekend as no one else in our division is left in the cup.

There's only 2 teams still not in the cup in Div 1 - so going off what they're saying , then everyone else will have to use there's up !

The problem for us comes as we're not playing a team in the cup so therefore have to use ours this weekend and if we get through have to throw our league game 0-18 when we play in the 1/4s. The games with 2 barla cup teams will get the opportunity to delay their postponement til the following round should they get through. Either way the governing bodies need to sort the shambles out.

Yeah ..I see what you mean now . Absolutely ridiculous - like you say , if you've got to throw a game 18-0 then that's making their own league a farce .
You'd think they'd be fully behind a YJRL team winning the national cup , not punishing them for it !
