| Maybe if more people would have bought season tickets, say 3000?
The time may not have been changed, so as has been mention by some away fans, 3pm rather than 3.30pm is better for them to get back home, so more maybe inclined to make the journey.
It maybe a selfish action by the club but he is looking how to bring a bit more money into the club with only 1600 season ticket holders on board.

| Quote ="Trojan Horse"There could be an argument for any time kickoff for and against dependant on circumstances.
However, the fixture lists were not out until yesterday. There were no fixtures or times set and now they are at 3pm. If the fixtures were released as 3.30pm KO then it was changed to 3pm then fair enough bring on the bennying.
I won't be able to make every game due to work commitment but ill still have a ST. I'm not going to moan and ask for a % refund on my ST or kick up a fuss.'"
Well one poster who can't make it is a fan of 22 years, since he went on is first birthday to a 3.30 kick off
Now i would assume he kinda half expected it might still be the same, or at least if not he would have hoped that the club may have told him before he bought the season ticket.
I don't know why they've changed it and in fairness with all thats happened since they took over we can hardly moan too much.
He won't ask for a refund but its a bit shoddy imo.
Thats constructive debate by the way.

From my own point of view they could kick off anytime they like it does not bother me one bit and it make sense for most away fans.

Doesn't bother me either but I am trying to be constructive, as MC hasn't done a lot wrong so far.
Got my ticket early doors when they were £150, I probably won't make it to all the games as I play cricket sometimes on a Sunday.

| Here is my take on this ... and it is neither positive nor negative... just, IMO points out the process that should be followed in making shuch a decision.
Forcefield analyisis.. the pros and cons of the decision
pros of earlier kick off... aligns with other sports and many other Sunday games. May result in less electricity used. Allows more time for away fans to get home after a game. Will not really make a difference to most home fans who attend all games anyway.
Cons, breaks a 40- 50 year pattern of home Sunday kick off times, and may well confuse casual fans, until the new pattern is adopted. (what I mean by that is generations of 'walk up' fans are programmed to assume a 3.30 kick off and we may well, for a time... find numbers turning up late... consequent frustration and opportunity to gripe and not spend money. The last half hour of game time on local radio... was almost exclusively Wakefield (or Cas if at home)... great and unopposed free publicity.
both times offer different positives and negatives, and, I am sure that this, and all other decisions are being made with the full range of management information, and to the best, long term interests of the club.
If we are moving the kick off time... market it to hell and sell the concept as positive. Otherwise (die hard fans aside) there may well be a negative trending outcome.

| Someone set up a proper poll on here to see how many it does effect, in a completely unscientific way.
Wasn't the kick-off time changed in the mid 70s?
Funny, when there were threads on dropping the 'Wildcats' name were posted, we were told to worry about things more important! That's a proper tradition.

| I prefer 3pm - means a more civilised home time for me & the kids, that doesn't interfere with Sunday tea.
As for those few people who are negatively impacted by this decision - I'd contact the club, I'm sure they'll sort something out.

| Quote ="Agent XIII"It's nothing to do with moaning it is just common decency why should your fellow supporters suffer for something they were unaware of. I fear that the type of supporters we now have would make Margaret Thatcher proud, you will be turning up in red braces and shouting into a phone.
The board did not mention it at the meeting with the supporters it was not raised in the following months so yes people are entitled to be disenchanted and because the club broke the contract they are probably entitled to their money back. I would guess that unlike some on here they are probably more honourable and will try to work round this crazy and unnecessary change.'"
What contract is this then Agent XIII?
The season ticket allows you in the ground for the game named on the ticket.
There is nothing on there about kick off time or even date.

| Has there been a proper press release informing the wider public yet, including the explanation as to why this decision has been taken?

| personally I prefer earlier kick off times ,for instance 1 PM.In the early part of the season at mid day it might be sunny and not too cold but by 4 PM it starts to get dark and much colder.I always assumed that the original reason for 3 PM kick offs for football and rugby ,was due to the old licensing laws, when pubs closed at 3 PM , so you could have a drink in the pub then go to the match. With modern licensing laws 3PM kick offs seem to be outdated.

Yes I remember the club starting to KO at 3.30pm and the drinking up time reason is why it was done.
I like the idea of starting even earlier in Feb/march to catch a bit of sun. You could also argue starting a little bit later mid summer so its a bit cooler for the players.
