I'm sure TRB can correct me if I'm wrong but the plan has always been to fill in the corners, subject to funding being sought & granted.

| Another positive step made then and awesome stuff from everyone involved.
As far as plans go it looks impressive and for me if we can end up with anything like Donny's stadium. they'll be thousands of happy fans.

We're not having any yellow/amber seats unless they get their finger out within the next 2 months (before full planning permission).
All the major issues were hammered out, at great length, during the outline/public inquiry stage. All this deals with is the final ascetics of the stadium. So we'll know exactly what were getting in 's terms of the colour scheme of the building in due time. Let's run with the premise that Cas had agreed to NM, but not told the fans or the press. The cat would be out of the bag once plans go in & get published online. So I think it's fair to say that if they haven't signed up by that stage they won't be coming at all.
If they were to join at a late stage they wouldn't be moving into a community stadium in the true sense of the term. The place would have Wakefield written all over it, literally.
In terms of ascetics for a "community stadium" I'd be more than happy with something traditional to our region, whilst remaining neutral to any club. Say blue seats with a white fleur de lis.

I'd be disappointed if Cas were to share it. It would kill them, and I for one don't want that.
If Cas leave Cas they'll die a slow withering death.

As if any Wakefield fan wants to share with Castleford.
The one thing both sets of fans have said is that in an ideal world there would be no ground share. You made that a reality when you refused the offer we were obliged to make.
THANK GOD FOR RICHARD WRIGHT!

Firstly I'm sure any "covert deal" would be made without your consultation so how you would be "in the know" to make such a bold statement.
Secondly we would be more likely to be up in arms than dissapointed following the comments attributed to your then CEO and his under hand methods of derailing the NM project.
Add onto that comments from deluded Cas fans such as Alf and Fully throughout the process (both NM and GH).
You're welcome to your pickle!!

| I will have a bet with you it will not have corners Financial Times. Someone said above that we have planning permission to build a stadium on that site. That's what all the behind the scenes stuff is now. To see what we can afford and who is going to help to pay for it. Try googling the artists impression of the Salford stadium. The finished article is nothing like. Don't get me wrong it would be great to have a bowl like stadium but these things never quite pan out that way. If I'm wrong then I will stick my hand up.

Yes it is and no there is no guarantee that the final stadium will look anything like that.
As stated we have final outline planning permission, which is the hardest part. However we have not submitted final detailed plans and have not got final planning permission.
My own opinion if Salford is anything to go by is that those plans are possibly over optimistic but I honestly don't know for certain - nobody does right now.

I'm guessing the Salford stadium will look like the plans that have been submitted to the LA though.
The image I posted earlier is showing the planners what the stadium will look like from the outside. Granted the corners may not be filled in but ultimately it will resemble the plans, otherwise what's the point of them?

I think we should also incorporate an MMA style cage next to the dug-out, in which any visiting 'hard man' can spend 3 rounds with Justin 'The Dark Knight' Poore.

| Quick question TRB/IA:
Is there still a fixed time frame for progression from outline to full planning?
This was discussed at length at the PI. If I recall correctly: Yorkcourt didn't see this as a concern as they were confident plans were already at an advanced stage.
It was 6 weeks, did this get written into the 106?

This might sound at odds with what we want, but it may not suit us to rush too much. Some of the opportunities opening up would be worth serious consideration. As such I would doubt if you will see developed plans in that time.

Post on the nut-job forum. They seem to be getting excited again.
From Methley & Mickletown Residents Association
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Newmarket: Council withdraws £2m finance
The future of the proposed community stadium at Stanley has been dealt a blow following news that Wakefield Council has withdrawn the promise of a £2m contribution to the scheme. A further £2m financial deal has also been withdrawn from a further stadium scheme which was to be built for Castleford Tigers at Glasshoughton.
In a new twist, both Castleford Tigers and Wakefield Wildcats have now been told to share a stadium by Council bosses – something which was suggested by campaigners fighting to save the 240 acre Green Belt site at Stanley and ignored by planners, two Government Inspectors and Secretary of State Eric Pickles, who approved the scheme. Wakefield Wildcats publicly refused to share any stadium with their Castleford rivals, so it is unclear where any co-operation might be forthcoming.
Overall finance was supposed to be provided by the building of huge distribution and other warehousing on the site and permission to build on the Green Belt was only given because the stadium was considered “exceptional circumstances”. If the stadium plan falls by the wayside, questions must be asked whether the rest of the development is legal and what action can be expected from the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government.
Further questions about the financial situation of developer Yorkcourt have also become apparent. Companies House has confirmed that Yorkcourt failed to submit its accounts in December, and a three month deadline has been set. If the company fails to produce its accounts by the deadline, it could face being closed down by HMRC.
Inspector approves footpath on Newmarket site
Development prospects on the northern section of the site between Newmarket Lane and the M62 have also been complicated by the successful challenge of campaigner Colin Seymour to ensure the future of an historic right of way which almost cuts the site in two. Evidence submitted by Mr Seymour and challenged by Wakefield Council and the developer, was upheld by Inspector Susan Doran. Planning approval on this part of the site was given for a hotel and fast food outlet, as well as a number of office units.
HS2 Rail Link: MP meets Secretary of State for Transport
MP Alec Shelbrooke has provided Methley News with details of a meeting he held with Secretary of State Patrick McLoughlin on the subject of the controversial high-speed rail link which is creating problems for some householders and businesses in the area. He told the Secretary of State that so far, the Exceptional Hardship Scheme (EHS), which is being set up to compensate those worst affected, is proving inadequate. An initial consultation on this scheme is being held now to decide the qualifying criteria for compensation. Anybody wishing to submit comments on the scheme can do so online at www.hs2.org.uk. The deadline is 29 April 2013.
Alec also discussed the possibility of re-routing the line further east beyond Pontefract to avoid serious consequences for residents and businesses in Methley, Garforth, Swillington and Woodlesford. He told Methley News that “ the Secretary of State seemed open to the idea that the route might be redrawn”.
Neighbourhood Plan for Methley?
Residents attending the Association’s March meeting were given a presentation from the Oulton & Woodlesford Neighbourhood Plan (OWNP). Questions were raised as to the boundary around the Clumpcliffe area as OWNP have drawn up a proposed boundary which closely follows the proposed HS2 route and includes Clumpcliffe in their area. The question has now arisen as to whether Methley & Mickletown wish to undertake a Neighbourhood Plan of their own. This asks local people how they view the future of their area over the next 20-30 years and gives some influence over future development. Plans are now under way to write to every household in the village to ask if they support such a move. Leeds City Council are keen to promote Neighbourhood Plans and the Association has already identified the need to monitor the intentions of developers, given negative experiences with one developer and a successful objection to unwanted house building in the centre of the village.
