You continue to raise the bar!! You don't dip your toe in do you? It's all in, head first, thats the Gronk! way. Good for you. You continue to turn a blind eye to your all conquering hero. Keep it that way. Because when the day comes that his castle does fall, and it will, you might learn to think before you start your nonsensical bleating on here. Premature evaulation. You might be able to get pills for that...

| I think the point Gronk is missing is that RW is of course a member of the public but equally he doesn't live near by so his only personal interest is via Castleford Tigers.
AND whether he is objecting or just putting 'facts' forward he is KNOWINGLY causing a problem for Wakefield.
So the point still stands. He chose to write, knowing the effect.....he is supporting his own agenda not rugby league, not Wakefield, not his home, not the wildlife, not the LCC plans, which all the other people involved are argueing over.
Rightly or wrongly, they are argueing because it affects them. RW taking advantage and pushing his way in to get a bonus for himself from other peoples issues.
Pretty low no matter which side you are on.

| The letter is on Cas Headed paper and is found in the appendix of Barton Wilmore's submissions. We hadn't been able to locate it on the portal - hence not saying anything publicly, but now it's been referred to in a public hearing, we feel obliged to comment.
Despite all the potential ideas for swimming pools etc, the ownership of any GH development was intended to be under CTRLFC and therefore does not conform to the rules which prohibit local authorities giving money to private companies.
I have nothing against Cas and would hope that we are knocking each other off for the rest of my life in each others stadiums in SL, but as for RW.....

Oh depending on how the letter reads to the shareholders etc he could end up out of a job.
When the club release the statement they told YR will be coming later, we'll get a better gist of what's actually gone on i.e. whether Cas as a club knew about it or not.

There’ll be more than him brimming with pride that old Dicky is trying to put a spanner in the works.
Surely as Cas CEO (member of the public or not) hasn’t he heard of a conflict of interest?
He should have just ignored the invitation & let those that matter get on with it, not replying to it on official CTRLFC headed paper .

I'm surprised he hasn't got a statement prepared ready for this, he must of known it wasn't going to lie dormant
or do we have to wait while the RFL make a statement first

| Wonder what the RFL will make of it too! SL & Franchising, working towards modern new facilities for clubs to excel and showcase our sport and a current SL chairman trying to derail what all clubs are suppose to be working towards!
Tricky Dicky has scored an own goal, can't see the RFL looking on him & Castleford too favourably. The clock is ticking for Tricky

| Assuming that the planning is awarded, is the funding and everything else that's needed in place to start building work soon or are there any more hurdles?
Good luck!

Why?I would have thought he hasn't told them anything they didn't already know and what he says isn't going to be the difference between it being built and not.

Full planning is needed first but yes once that is granted, if the current PI approves the outline scheme, then the funding is in place for building work to start.

| Cas changed their mind and will issue a response in regards to Rw letter tomorrow. Me thinks they'll be up all night ting bricks, thinking how to get out of this with any credibility. Alternatively will this statement be used in favour of the development of teu state they support us getting a new stadium @ Newmarket to help local community including their people.
Interesting times indeed.
Think they need PR guru now!

| Quote RW has not objected, he has simply answered a query. He confirmed that the Tigers were happy to take part in the council funded feasibility study and that Wakey weren't. He added that Wakey could use GH as tenants.'"
So what's with the MASSIVE over reaction on here to someone confirming things he was asked to confirm?
There is no objection there, he is merely stating things that has been out in public for over a year now. Some of the comments on here are totally OTT and utterly ridiculous...I wonder if this website will be hearing from the clubs legal team for some of the comments made

He's done nothing wrong at all.
He was asked to confirm the story about the feasibility study and if Wakefield would be able to share at Glasshoughton, he confirmed both of these that's that.
Massive over reaction by the Wakefield fans on this and you're trying to turn nothing into something for no reason at all.

No he hasn't, he was asked to provide facts he gave facts. There is no implications either - as someone else said it will have no effect on the outcome.
If Newmarket does not pass, it isn't because of RW it's because the project wasn't feasible or legal under planning guidelines.

| If they had a legal team, he wouldn't have said what he said.
I haven't read anything that could be seen as a legal issue. No one has accused him of doing anything apart from supporting the objections for our new stadium. All people are saying is that we don't see why he needs to be involved and by getting involved he is picking the opposite side to us, which we don't think is appropriate for the Chairman of Cas.
He is starting a war (of words) that really would have been better left alone.
Even if his letter has no effect, no one will forget this and it will be an issue at every Cas/Wakefield game from now on and he'll probably find ill advised supporters of Wakefield trying their best to derail the Cas plans in retaliation.
He would have been better just saying nothing.....but he chose not to.

When was the green light given for the Glasshoughtin build to commence. I seem to have missed that 1.

The thing is not whether you believe what you're writing or if you think RW is right or not in what he's done, the real crux of the matter is how is this perceived by the wider rugby community.
The perception whether you belive it or not is RW is trying to stop Wakefields stadium and is throwing his weight behind a no bid, defend his position all you want but it doesn't stop the rugby community uniting together to think RW is underhand and no friend of rugby league.
He could have kept quiet or took a back seat but actually chose to root himself right in the middle of the issue, he's fully aware of the power he wealds and so are the campaigners otherwise they wouldn't have approached him, are you really so one-eyed and naive to think he isn't trying to go against Wakefield.
Wakefield want their own stadium, they don't want to share with Castleford is that too hard to understand, i'm sure Wakefields board have possibly the same concerns as RW but have to chose to rise above it and show a bit of class.
I'm surprised you haven't added
Well done Richard
It's about the only thing you can get out the Cas board when you dare go against the grain, i used to like Cas, always had a soft spot for them, but this leaves a bad taste in the mouth.

| A sad and desperate act from a sad and desperate little man.
Are Cas not currently against a development gaining a renewal on its planning permission in Cas town cente and are currently having fans object against it as it could well scupper their chances of a supermarket ever been built on WR. Maybe we should all write in support of the development. Eye for an eye and all that. Thats how petty and pathetic this has become.
