Firstly - I am pleased that Glenn has resigned for Trinity.... He is a top quality player.... and the calibre of the man and his experience at top level is a valuable asset to the club ..... in particular with the youngsters so well done AG/JE





Secondly though -I am concerned by the absence of another signing today - looks like we may be going into the season without an accomplished half back.

Moore, Wildie, Tony and Wood are all capable of playing a role this season ... but I must say one established quality 6 or 7 would really have given us a great chance of being competitive.

Plus the 1873 chap told me it was an overseas half back that we had signed .. ... so i have either been lied to OR we have hit a stumbling block - any ideas?

I don't get this - we are only in October. Pre season training has not yet begun. Yet people seem to be panicking that we are signing no more players. Why, we are nowhere the end of the traditional signing period.

Players and agents hold out for better deals if there is multiple club interest with many deals being finalised in december.

I remember Solomona coming in under the radar in december 2003 despite having been offered the original deal 6 month earlier. It's a bit like a chain when house selling, sometimes one club has to get it's player before the player you want can be released etc etc.

Great news ! So now do we have 2 assistants judging by that link it says morro will be on a assistant basis aswell as coaching the under 20's. I would have give him a 2 year deal personnally.

If it works out then Glenn, AG and JE can sit down and talk about another year. If it doesn't then we can call it a day.




Happy enough with signing but I (like many) had got myself 'a bit excited' and was hoping for a new player.

Happy with this news, gives us great depth in backrow and his experience is invaluble. Now the coaching set up is sorted lets get the rest of the squad sorted.

Think we were getting a bit over excited. I'm quite happy with this signing for a number of reasons, leadership, experience etc. Have been told from a number of different people that there is still more to come.

Lets keep our feet on the ground and remember where we were a few months back.

Personally think we've had another Cedar Court moment here. Loads of fans kidded into attending the opening of a new shop.

Dont think so the club said a signing was to be announced it was only hyped up by some posters on here.

As for the Cedar Court it was the most important meeting i the history of the club, the publicity and follow on from it ensured in part we remained in SL.

Some people want to have their cake and eat it I am afraid.

There is more to come on the signings front but the club is playing it right for a change, nothing announced until its in the bag.

Yes i have been told more players in th pipe line, and no I do not think we got hood winked with Cedar court, some people just love to moan, get over it, I think we got plenty out of the cedr court meeting, and with the turn out of fans it showed we care, WTID

This is a great appointment in my view - Richard Agar and co are to be applauded on showing common sense for not losing all the experience Glen Morrison has. Nothing whatsoever to do with what he has done for us in the past (although he has been a great player for us) but more for what he can do for us in the future!
All we need now is a bustling, no nonsense prop forward and a Stand Off.......

I agree about the signing hype for sure but can't agree with Cedar court, it was about a lottery and the ground bit got added at the last moment, thats the bottom line.

We got a lottery (and its a important lottery) and some crayon pics of some new stands, so i'm not moaning but i ain't kidding myself either.

What else do you think we got from that night.

Agree, the club just said it would be good news and if you want to hear it first hand go to the shop, can't see how anyone would come to the conclusion that they'd been hoodwinked, unless they'd been paying a little too much attention to normycat, on here.
The club have actually used a bit of PR and marketing lately and I really like what I've seen so far and the direction it's going.
Like you say as it turned out, the Cedar Court meeting was probably the difference between us getting in SL and not getting in.

I agree.we are in super league against all odds,new coach,some quality signings and now Glen staying to help the 1st team and most likely the youth in the future.it's a new era,get on board,enjoy the ride and stop wingeing.

even though I'm pleased to hear Morrison is stopping on a year it wasn't the announcement that I was expecting and also what is happening to Tony Drury is he still got a part to play in the coach of the under 20s
